Crossing from Argentina to Chile. Friendly aduana, but very extensive controle of our truck, with 5 man, took them 15 minutes to find one forgotten lemon. 🤭 Meanwhile we could use their open wifi 🥳

We are french traveling with our chilean van, it was super easy to cross.
make sure you have the padrón, declaración jurada, and the paper you have to fill online and print in 4 exemplary.

You'll have to cross 80km of dirt road steep at the end we recommend to do it early morning.

If you plan to make a stop at the lagune (3200 ) to acclimated your bodies before crossing the border at (4800m) you can but don't forget to tell the policeman he will let the Argentina aduana know.

The formalities were done quickly, there was not much going on at the end of May. Very nice people. However, the food inspection was very detailed. They wanted to look into almost every cupboard and even into our roof box. That was the first time. Eggs, honey, fruit and vegetables are not allowed as usual. Cheese, yoghurt, milk etc. no problem.

Long queue of persons and cars at 8pm.
But officials were very friendly and fast working, so 50 minutes later we could leave with our motorhome.
