Large gravel parking lot across from Citgo station at the end of the riverfront boardwalk. As you drive in and face the river, there is a spot to the right behind trees that is a little more private. Stayed here and listened to the waterfront concert across the river. Some slight city noise, but low light and mostly quiet. We stayed on a Saturday night and on Sunday morning around 0600 the walkers started coming by.

Beautful spot next to river and paved walking path. Stayed 1 night. Rained next morning so could explore the park more. Watched rain in the river. No issues.
Report Check-InAbout the only remaining spot to park free. It’s the parking lot AFTER Hardy St. Very busy at night. People come and go. They even stay late in the night to listen to the concert on the other side of the river

Report Check-InNice spot, 4-5 other vehicles hunkered down to dodge hurricane Lee. Plenty of parking away from trees. Had a very quiet night, Lots of walking traffic starting around 6am, left early
Report Check-InGoogle maps slightly off. The location is just to the south.
Nice view and very level. Street noise is considerable though.
Report Check-InSpent two nights here and it was absolutely lovely. It’s pretty much as described, large gravel lot facing the river. It does seem to fill up throughout the day, but clears out at night.
Report Check-InListened to Santana from across the river. Beautiful spot, now more developed with lamps but it was quiet and no one bothered us. There are no signs and two other vans stayed in the large parking area.
Report Check-InTwo vans overnighted in this gravel parking lot for the popular upscale paved walking trail along the Penobscot River, across from Bangor.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay overnight. It was quiet and you have a great view of the river. I parked behind the trees for even more privacy.
Report Check-InWaterfront is now developed as pedestrian zone. No more "privacy" trees. But the parking lot is still there. Parked approx same spot, starboard facing the wall and the river. Weren't bothered. Perfect spot.
