Mexico
Nice campground that can accommodate a few vans up the hill and has glamping tents. The road to get out here does not seem right but follow the Google directions.
Super close to town. Hot water showers if you ask. Really friendly owner. There is fast wifi in the common area but if you are in a van, etc, in the upper area the wifi range drops off. One bar of T-Mobile in the upper area.
Wow, what a neat place just a little out of town. A number of van/camper sites, and some tent camping. Lovely kitchen area. Hot showers. Very friendly hosts. A bit confusing to find, as others have said, but worth the navigatory hassles
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
A beautiful green site. Great showers, Sergio II is super nice. The short dirt road is no problem. Uber to the center about 100 MXN. Unfortunately there is a building yard next door, so it's not really quiet during the day.
Report Check-InWow, what a neat place just a little out of town. A number of van/camper sites, and some tent camping. Lovely kitchen area. Hot showers. Very friendly hosts. A bit confusing to find, as others have said, but worth the navigatory hassles
Report Check-InWe stopped here 3 nights.
Neat and well looked after. Nice showers with lots of room.
Would certainly use again
Report Check-InThis campground is awesome. We have stayed multiple times. We ate tacos with Sergio and Perrie and both are super friendly. They had some rescue dogs last year but now only have Hamilton who is the most friendly dog. The dirt road in doesn’t seem right but just keep following the signs. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, fast WiFi, kitchen and social areas. Communication is great via WhatsApp. Great local restaurants on the main road
Report Check-InGreat spot in San Jose Del Cabo. Use google maps Not far from local business and restaurants. 10-15 min drive to the beach. Very safe. Felt comfortable leaving our surfboards and items for a few hours while exploring the area. Clean toilets and showers. Nice communal kitchen and common area with nice lights and seating. Nice shaded garden areas. Sergio is a wonderful host. Great SAFE place to stay. Don’t miss this place
Report Check-InTwo level campground for dry camping that is quite sweetly designed, but ... I stayed on the second level for several weeks due to some dentist procedures. Too many good reviews for this campground!
- chaotic and careless management, get a receipt for your payments, they forget it and get completely confused
- blocked toilets, no toilet paper, no soap, no water
- no shower water or only a bit cold water
- dirty kitchen places
- trash pile up and more signs of careless management
- there wasn't even one day when everything was OK!
They need to improve their services - then it can be sweet place
Report Check-InGreat place to camp. Has tent and RV sites.
Clean and hot showers, nice kitchen and communal areas. Fast wifi.
Sergio is a great guy to talk to, ask him about why it's called Clandestine.
Highly recommended.
Amazing place! Super nice people. Good Wifi, clean bathrooms and showers. Well equipped kitchen, workout space. Just perfect after some days of wild camping. Absolutly recommended!!
Better to drive after the google maps location. The one on IOverlander took us a bit wrong.
Fantastic camping site! Lots of greenery and shade. Clean running water toilets and showers. Great wifi. The campsite was super clean and well cared for. The unpaved road up was in great condition (if you come straight up from Blvd Forjadores to Aguajito road, don't take weird google maps roads). But above all, the host & owner, Sergio was superb and very welcoming. Meeting him, his family and other guest made this an authentic Mexican experience we will not forget. Stay here. You won't regret it.
Report Check-InWe stopped by today to use the DUMP only at a cost of 150 pesos. Charming little campsite in development. Access with anything other than a Class B would be rather difficult.
Report Check-Insuper camping, avec plein de petits coins aménagés, cuisine extérieur et salle a manger commune qui invite aux rencontres. le proprio est très cool et serviable. je recommande vraiment.
500$/ nuit pour 4 pers
Spent 2 nights and enjoyed the great hosts. only draw back was the noise at night. Chicken were going all night, I slept through it but my partner did not. She was tired when I put her on her planned flight home for Christmas. Uber will pick you up at the gate and can take you down town center where you can walk to the Augumala restaurant, which have a great ceviche and we found to be reasonable in price.
Report Check-InA work in progress campo as it was mostly for tenters to start but the ~10 RV spots for dry camping are available now (will only fit class B or smaller, not big rigs) and so is the dump station!
The communal kitchen and shared table area is great for getting to know other campers, chatting with Sergio about all the plants on the property and their health benefits, getting some work done or just hanging with the 5-6 campo dogs. Sergio generously gave us fresh hibiscus flowers, damia (?) leaves and santa leaves from his trees to brew jamaica and other teas.
2 shower stalls when we went, but the second set of shower stalls by the RV spots was almost completed. We took cold showers because it was hot, but if you ask Sergio to turn on the hot water you can get hot shower.
100 pesos just for dumping
400 pesos/NT to stay (includes dump and all amenities)
This campground is undergoing some major upgrades during the off season. There will be level sites for RVs, a dump station, shade and eventually another set of bathrooms and dish station for the RVers. Right now it's a construction site but Sergio welcomed me and my two dogs and 22' C Class RV with generosity.
Currently there still are no hookups for RVs but there are sites big enough for medium big rigs like me. There are three friendly dogs and the donkey is still here but almost always in his enclosure. $400 pesos/night. There is no community here in August like there was in May so I am disappointed in the lack of company. Sergio made time to have a beer with me.
Nice relaxed campground with friendly people and a couple of animals. Has everything you need and is quiet at night. Only advisable for smaller vans and tents.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay. Nice set up a bit away from the centre. Sergio and Elias super friendly hosts. You have everything you need; WiFi, electricity, hot water, a place to hang out and a kitchen. The whole place is well taken care of. Really a nice place. AND some really cute dogs to play and hang out with! Cannot recommend enough.
Report Check-InSuper great spot. The owner helped me out when my van broke down nearby, came and picked me up, fed me empanadas, offered to let me borrow one of his vehicles, and tried to get me a mechanic.
Stayed for two nights, had a delightful shower, and met a bunch of great people around the table in the lovely common area.
Worth it, for sure. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely an amazing stay. Rancho El Clandestino is a hidden gem in San Jose Del Cabo. the owner Sergio, went out of his way to make us feel right at home. 100% recommend this place. beautiful fruit trees and shaded areas. best hot water shower in baja! flush toliets. it's a 5 min drive from the Art walk and downtown. But feels completely Removed from the city rush. can't wait to come back!
Easy drive in Truck camper. 2wd friendly. lots of room for rigs up to 27 feet
Report Check-InSergio is an awesome host and a really interesting person. The campsite was developed as a tenting (clamping) kinda thing but also has a top parking lot that can accommodate vans, and truck/campers but not really anything larger than that due to space constraints and the ability to turn around. The campsite grounds are really cool and eclectic and the vibe is of semi-tropical guest house (or hostel). It reminds us of places we would have stayed in Thailand many years ago. The showers are best we have had camping in Baja and if your timing is right Sergio might be organizing a community feast... He once owned the largest catering company on the Baja!
The onsite donkey Geronimo is hilariously spirited and when Sergio lets him out of his enclosure in the morning, he runs and jumps around... too funny!
There is no tank dump here, but there may be in the future, as Sergio is considering putting a dump facility in after I told him that nobody else in SJ del Cabo is doing it.
Totally recommend!
Report Check-InWe came here because we wanted to go to the Thursday art walk. It is walkable to town but a cheap uber ride also. It was fine for our truck camper but is definitely a small rig only spot.
Sergio is a great host. The other campers were very friendly. Nice and hot showers. Great common areas. Not much cell and wifi at the upper area.

Report Check-InHot shower, nice common area. Will stay again if in the area. One of the campground dogs is protective to the kitchen area, don’t let you dog roam freely. Otherwise, all good.
Report Check-InJust as everyone says. A must stop if you can. Sergio is a fantastic host and his caretaker young Daniel does and excellent job super special place.
I have a truck camper and 10' trailer. There are 2 turns to get in here that a very tight. Sergio suggested I walk them before driving in I'm glad I did. The upper lot for "bigger" vehicles is also tight with trees in the way. For sure more set up for vans or single trucks here. But walk up the road a ways and decide for yourself.
Absolutely awesome. 10/10. Great place.
Report Check-InThis place is special - the perfect spot to be far away from the city of San Jose Cabo for some peace - or time for working… without being too far removed. The road in is a dirt road and is windy - the ranch is tucked away. The owner Rodrigo has put so much care and energy into making this place about quality. Coolest of all - spontaneous dinner parties where we all pitched for a massive family style meal. Never had the experience but I made great connections from that meal. If you’re near San Jose… the community, the warm atmosphere (and great lighting!) and privacy is perfect if you need to work or run errands for a few days before heading out into the Baja sun.
Report Check-InYou read a lot of reviews that claim the best shower in baja but THIS is the best shower in baja! This spot is such a treat and well worth the 400 peso a night to have such a nice experience. Rainfall shower with hot water, plenty of toilet paper and a hand washing sink in the bathroom, amazing communal kitchen with a big fridge. Sergio and his wife will often cook for you (fresh caught mahi mahi tacos when we were there). Also featuring: pretty good wifi, cute dogs (and new puppy Hamilton) and a donkey! Rooster noise is minimal since they are all on a neighboring farm and not on site :D
Report Check-InCame for a few nights, stayed for a few weeks.
Incredibly gracious and thoughtful hosts. Hot water. Fast Wi-Fi. Large outdoor kitchen, lounge and dining areas.
Camp dogs are super friendly, especially Mayonnaiso who will greet you as you step out of your vehicle. Camp burro, named Geronimo, is pretty low key too.
A couple things that made this stop extra special… Sergio (owner) and his family often visit the camp and invite visitors to taste the local foods, maybe even join a family meal or plan a barbecue for everyone who’s visiting.
It wouldn’t be unusual for me or another visitor to hit the kitchen and preparing enough to share, the vibe is very laid back and everyone found a way to pitch in.
Fastest camp Wi-Fi I’ve seen in Baja.
Power and Wi-Fi in communal areas. True hot water shower. Flush toilets. Fruit trees abound (help yourself).
Love this place!!! We had to pick up a friend at the airport so we booked this place as a good landing space. The drive in looked a little sketchy as the journey takes you along an arroyo and there is quite a bit of junk near the Main Street. The farther in we drove the quieter and cleaner it became. Once we arrived here we realized what a gem this place is! Sergio has only been open about two months but it is clear that he has big plans to continue to make this camping place a must for anyone who wants to camp in Cabo but feel like you are out in the country. The vibe here is totally wonderful and chill. We had a potluck with our fellow travelers in the common space. Sergio has created a sweet scene with lots of trees and interesting evening lighting. He even provided the fish for dinner! He treated all of us like old friends. Plenty of bathrooms and a nice hot shower. We will definitely return!
Report Check-InNice site, hardly any network reception but fast wifi on the lower site. Very dog friendly.
Hot shower. 400Pesos per night. Quiet even on weekends.
400$ a night for two. Spend 2 here and definitely a must do if you're in the area. Hot showers, owner is super generous and did a whole fish and guacamole and many stuff to share us for the night.
Community kitchen is a must at night, perfect place to share time with others and cook.
He's fully committed to improve the place as he only opened 3 months ago so he get used to how to handle this place. Will get even better as the time goes by.
Report Check-InWhat a unique place! We began to wonder as we followed the dirt road further and further but we were tracking to the google directions and a few signs along the way were encouraging. We were placed up top in the new undeveloped area which initially felt like we were just on a small farm. But the more we learned the more we liked it. We decided to cook breakfast in the camp kitchen and that was when we really interacted with Sergio, the owner. He is hard working and ambitious and has already created an oasis of shade and fruit trees. We will definitely come back when we pass this way again. This is the only option in the Los Cabo’s area and we recommend it for a nice rest.
Report Check-InWhat a jewel. Traveling the long dirt road we wondered where we were going. But we tracked with Google maps and the intermittent signs were encouraging. We were put on the top undeveloped section and it first it just seemed like we were camped on a small farm. The next day we decided to make breakfast in the camp kitchen and that’s when we interacted with Sergio. He is hard working and ambitious and has created a special place with mature trees and cactus as well as fruits and refreshing shade. It is a work in progress but already has modern bathrooms and hot showers. We will come again when in the area.
Report Check-InOur favorite place in the entire Baja Peninsula to stay. Never wanted to leave. Can’t wait to get back. Slight correction to a previous poster, it does have a beautiful website now. Check it out! Ranchoelclandistino.com
Report Check-InDrove here with our tow truck to check if we could fit, and there is no way any travel trailer or rig bigger than 20 feet can get in here. Couple tight turns before the ranch and the entrance is on a very tight turn. NOT SUITABLE FOR BIG RIGS OR YOU LL BE IN TROUBLE.
Report Check-InPerfect, shower with hot water. Commune areas.
Most importantly the owner is super helpful and generous.
We felt really welcome.
Great place for glamming or Vanlife.
Sergio speaks perfect English and is extremely helpful and welcoming.
Mayonnaiseo the puppy acts as the “official welcome party” and is very energetic and affectionate.
We will definitely be back again soon.
Nice campground that can accommodate a few vans up the hill and has glamping tents. The road to get out here does not seem right but follow the Google directions. Super close to town. Hot water showers if you ask. Really friendly owner.
