Description

Dispersed camping. Take a small dirt track lakeside into the woods and there are several places suitable to pitch up. Looks like it gets used a bit as there are old fire pits and old tracks.

Latest Check-Ins

Bush camping just off the secondary highway, where you can hear traffic during the day but it's quiet at night. Camping spots are fairly well spaced apart. Unfortunately we found a lot of broken glass and toilet paper. There's a really nice paved bike trail that runs parallel to the highway, and mountain bike trails around the camp sites. Good cell service with Rogers.

Report Check-In

Narrow road with a sizable dip. Easy to bottom out on. But if you make it past this there's a few secluded sites. Quiet. You can hear the road but there was little traffic. Our 23' RV made it unscathed.

Report Check-In

The roads were too muddy to pass through with our van so we stayed at the pull off right near the road and had no issues. Hardly any cars drove by.

Great spot, lots of options. No snow as of May 2nd. 4wd not required but there are lots more options if you have it.

Report Check-In

Great spot for an overnight or longer. Very little snow so easy enough (with 4WD) to get off the main road a ways for a quiet night. Coyotes howling when we arrived which added to the vibe. Lots of places to camp. We only was one other camper but there could have been many more that we didn’t see.

Great area! looks like there's alot of dirt bike / mountain bike trails in the area aswell.

Nice dispersed camping spot between Westside Rd and Windermere Lake. Beyond the main open field which is visible on Google Satellite View are the dirt tracks. Can choose between open field camp spot or tucked in the trees. Not very busy during the week at the end of August. Short bike ride down to the lake. There's great views along those dirt tracks. Cell service is acceptable but not great. 2-ish bars on T-mobile (Bell) and Verizon (Telcel) depending on the spot. A really nice bike path runs alongside the main road from Fairmont to Invermere. No services here but there are some restrooms and trash bins along the bike path where they have parking lots.

Great spot to spend a night or two. Lots of spots for vans or truck campers, there's one bad dip in the road, but there is a way to avoid it, turn off the road and turn left after the first tree and follow the lesser used path to get in, it's flat 👍

Report Check-In

We stayed in open field area just to the left of the first fork.
Followed the road down a little further by foot and it looked a little steep for our truck camper rig.

Would be tough after rain as the road is pretty much all Dust and some of the tracks can be a little bumpy.
Do need some clearance just cause the road tracks can cause a bit of tilt.

Not near water.

Great, quiet place to boondock. So quiet you could sleep all day if you wanted 😴 Branches off in many directions, plenty of room for many vehicles. LTE 2-4 bar cell service.

Stayed there for the night with no problems and a pretty nice breakfast. Entrance is easy to miss, trees can stand really close to each other and there are two rather big drops in the road so I'd recommend some ground clearance or a good approach angle. So definitely not big rig friendly but if you take the road a little further south, the forest seems to clear up and there's another similar spot which should work better.

Nice spot, nearby motorbike tracks. When we camped in April, very empty and quiet. Good spot, interesting terrain, hike down to the lake is nice!

Pitched our tent here because we spent so much time travelling here on a back road and didn’t want to drive much more that afternoon. Pretty rugged to be frank, got mauled by large mosquitoes that evening and had a dusty tent.

Lovely view depending on where you set up. The most “established” place that I saw was pretty dirty. I needed cell service so it works.

it's quiet and has some shade. some places to make fires. got in here with my express 3500 passenger van. was a bit tight but easy enough to turn around. some garbage but not the worst i've seen. overall 6/10, good place for a night but wouldn't stay here more than that.

Couple spots along the road before the lake. Mountain views, quiet.

Gravel lot just next to the river and bridge/highway. bit noisy but acceptable for a night. cool view of the cliffs.
turn left after the bridge heading towards Fairmont hot springs.

This Place is a mess. But when you can't get into the national park it'll do for the night. At least you get cell service.
