Malecón del Rio Barranquilha | Informal Campsite

stayed here a night. I have a RTT, the malecon mayor office workers who keep an on ensuring rules are followed did not want us to open the tent until late at night. Also, they want me to park in one spot. Around 10 pm they let me open the tent and sleep.
In the morning around 6 am they wanted me to put rent down. If you have a van or Caravan, no problem.
Tourist police officer, Fabian Godoy is really nice. Say hello for Sonny. He gave me a police hat and a football shirt too.
Please park by the bathroom at the south end as it is very quiet at night.
If you have a van or Caravan no problem parking. Just be self contained. Nothing outside.

pasamos los carnavales aparcados en el Malecón y super bien ambiente. Cómo era carnaval había muchos coches así que no aparcamos en esta zona del final del Malecón, aparcamos antes del caimán del río, justo enfrente del puesto de policía, realmente ahí no se puede aparcar pero por el carnaval estaba todo lleno de coches y nos dejaron quedarnos ahí las 4 noches. hay baños y fuentes con agua potable (no es posible conectar manguera, es de las que sale un chorro para arriba, sin grifo). realmente la zona del Malecón está genial, muchas personas paseando, hay muchas cosas allí, desde canchas para fútbol, bolley...a restaurantes y puestos. además corre el aire ya que es en el río y con el calor de Barranquilla se agradece mucho esa brisa.

Pasamos varias noches en el malecón, nosotros estacionamos unos metros antes del punto de ivorlander, justo en frente del puesto de policías y nos sentimos muy seguros. Muy linda la costanera!

Wiki from Iguana 4x4 shop said it’s not the safest place to stay, the neighborhood next door Siape is pretty dodgy. Rather use a paid parking lot nearby he said. We didn’t stay.

We stayed here two quiet nights, on Friday and Saturday. We parking front Mr. Bono because front the bathrooms there aren't lights it was dark.
We arrived 3 pm, there are a lot of cars parking along the malecon.
The people come here for doing excercise, walking, etc.  There are very friendly.
We could sell some handcrafts in our van, don't let you sell out side because you have to ask permission.
The night was quiet and silent.

Bathrooms are Open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Estuvimos aquí viernes y sábado. Estacionamos enfrente de Mr. Bono porque enfrente de los baños está oscuro, no hay iluminación.
Llegamos a las 3 p.m. y ya habían muchos autos parqueados a lo largo del malecón.
Las personas vienen aquí para hacer ejercicio, caminar y disfrutar del atardecer.
Los barranquilleros son muy amigables, se acercaban a ver la combi y a saludar, pudimos vender algo de artesanías adentro de la combi, a pesar de que no está permitido, tienes que sacar un permiso.
Los baños están abiertos de 5 am hasta las 11 p.m.
Viene mucha gente, pero en la noche es muy tranquilo y silencioso.

Incredible place in Barranquilla in the river malecon. Bathrooms from 8am till 6pm. Felt safe and super quiet at night. There are a lot of restaurants near by. Police came by and they say nothing.

Incredible place to sleep inside of Barranquilla. Beautiful river Malecón, with bathrooms (from 8am-6pm) and nice restaurants around. Police was nearby and they didnt say anything. Felt safe. You can leave your car here and go for a walk.

nice place, quiet night. police said here is the safest area of the city, threre are free toilets and good place to run or workout.

é um calçadão turístico muito lindo e amplo. seguro, limpo e super agradável. tem banheiros limpos, eletricidade gratuita no calçadão, bares e restobar. os funcionários são todos muito atenciosos e amigáveis. ótimo lugar para visitar e dormir uma noite.
