Stayed here last night. very private on the public road, leads to a dead end a few spots along the side of the road. OK for One van to spend the night, very secluded beautiful Marsh land nobody bothered us
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Was here and was told to move by the police. They said it was a private road. Would not camp here.
Report Check-InNice spot! Cops showed up in the morning. Since the side of the road is considered a state park but not the road, the police ask us to leave at sun rise. So basically you can sleep there but only sleep as it’s sun down to sun up. Locals don’t really appreciate us there but tolerate as long as it’s for the night.
Report Check-InGreat place for the evening. Given the time of year, no or very little mosquitoes. In fact, we were the only one here camping on the Saturday night.
Report Check-InThere are three of possible locations at the side of the road to pull off, one being better than the other two, with the ability to pull off farther and still be somewhat level. Definitely not recommended during mosquito season, since it is next to and at the same level as a couple of marshes. Those marshes provide habitat for quite a bit of bird life, if you like that.
Very shady location, not much sunlight for solar panels or watching the stars. Good enough for a night in an area where there's no other wild camping opportunities.
Note that only a quarter mile farther down Rte.9 is Fireman's Park, with a good sized parking lot, a baseball diamond, and no signs prohibiting overnight parking or camping (as of this date)
