Description

Just a little earlier down the road from the other posted spot on iOverlander for camping in your rig. A mostly sloped lot, but we stayed at the top of the lot in a flat spot for several days. Great views. A little quieter because it’s not right across from the cafe down the road. The owner of the lot is an older woman, grandmother to the young guy who manages the day to day, Jon. He’s an architect trained and worked in Bogota. Came home to run the lot during Covid. He was so generous, and when we said we were going to try and grab a taxi into Guadalupe he volunteered to drive us and show us around, with no pressure. We paid him a small fee for the ride. He brought his little sister along too. He also drove us to show us a couple other places. We paid him 10,000cop a night. Well worth it if you can grab that flat spot at the top of the lot. It’s also a less steep entrance to his lot vs the one down the street. We walked from his place down to the swimming holes in the river.

Latest Check-Ins

John is the friendly guy here. There is one flat spot and a lot of space uneven. There is a new bathroom, with cold shower. During the day the water gets hot. Close to the entrance to Las Gachas. They sell some drinks and snacks. Safe and silent to sleep.

Nice guy, but I don't understand the previous reviews. It's impossible to find a level spot. Everywhere you stand wrong. Sanitary is more than basic, shower without a door. We didn't use anything. But a quiet and safe place.

Report Check-In

Typo in previous comment. We settled on 15k for the night.

Report Check-In

As described. Road to the lot is rough, but doable with any vehicle. They wanted 20k per night, we settled on 25k. Lots of firecrackers and bottle rockets on a random Wed night, past midnight. We stayed one night and moved to the trailhead for free.

Report Check-In

As mentioned, mostly sloped, but go all the way to the top. Sells some chips and whatnot. Decent washrooms and cold showers, open all night. Good option in the area! 15k per vehicle for overnight, 5k just day parking.

Great spot. Wifi, bathrooms, shower, flat ground, very quiet at night. Short hike to las gachas.
