Fantstic spot on white sand beach right at the Zambezi. Access is through a tight spot in the bushes just left of the pontoon. You also have a view on the impressive foot bridge spanning over the river which is used by pedestrians, bicyclists and even motorbikers. The locals are very friendly and respectful and we had some nice chats without feeling like the general entertainment. There are some shallow areas at the river where you can wash yourself and the water is clear enough to watch out for crocs.

Hard to imagine how any vehicle makes it now without serve scratches to this trail right parallel to the river. The trees at the beginning are so deep that even a every small car can't go through! One must definitely cut big parts of the trees in the left and right side!
As alternative one can camp easily in the flood plains on the other side of the bushes (but without the nice view on the river).
An advice how to get there (might not work in the rain season): When coming from the M8 (where the sign "Chinyingi Mission 8 km" is) locals leaving after approx 1,7 km the small trail and driving through the flood plain. It is shorter and open area. The "real" path leads through partly sandy and (over)grown bushes.
Report Check-InThanks for sharing this nice spot. We hope everyone who comes here is respectful enough to keep it like it is.
locals told us that there are LOTs of crock inside the river. So be careful, they do not swim in it...
I think Trucks will have problems to come here without cutting trees.
great place on a white beach at the river. you can swim if you want but watch out for the crocs. the locals told us they are not here, but you never know...
