Way too muddy to get to gate; had to put Sprinter van into 4 WD to back out.
Went one mile north to National Forest land; super.

Nice little spot as described! Convenient location to town and the highway. Roads are a bit rutted in some spots with some decent size pointy rocks, so watch where you're going.

Nice place across from Kaibab Lake turn off. Go through the gate and make sure you CLOSE it. I wouldn't recommend large vehicles or trailers its really rocky and if raining be careful. Great for Van's or Trucks. there are a few fire rings and touchy cell service. little road noise. Enjoy.

Description is right. There’s a little turn off on the road across from the turn for kaibob campground. Open the gate, close it and pick your spot. We stayed right in the front area. Nice campsites with a fire ring. Beautiful view, trees, weather. And super close to town. Loved this place so much. We even woke up to cows grazing outside our rig.

Exactly as described, there’s a gate that needs to be opened. We arrived after dark and stayed at the first site past the gate with no issues or disturbances. There was some road noise but it didn’t really bother us.

This place is so much nicer then the other ones in the area. You will need a high clearance vehicle when it's wet. I parked in the back by the pond. Saw a mule deer by the pond when I pulled up.

Lovely set up fire pits and some level sites at the beginning. The road is pretty rough past the beginning so we had to improvise working around it. There was also a lady claiming their friends were coming for a spot, which they never did. Don’t fall for her shenanigans!

Great spot en route to the Grand Canyon. We stopped in after spending a couple of hours in Williams on Easter Sunday and stayed one night. The road right at the gate is seriously muddy and deeply rutted so it might be tricky if there been a recent rain or snow melt. Verizon service was spotty, good enough for calls and sometimes I could load videos. ATT was good for calls and texts but not really enough for internet browsing. Some road noise from route 62 but I imagine you could get away from that pretty easily (we stopped at the first site just after the gate) there’s a lot of pine trees so you can find shade if it’s hot but still some open areas if you need to charge solar or sit in the sun to warm up when it’s cold. Great spot, highly recommend if you’re looking to stay somewhere in your way to GCNP

Close to Route 40, directly off or Route 64, the turnoff is about 50' north of the road into Kaibob Lake Campground. Pull off the road, open the swinging gate, close it behind you, and follow the dirt road to the right to find the small lake and spot in the photo. NOTE: This BLM land site was recommended to us by the Rangers at the Kaibob Lake Campground when they were sold out and we needed a place to stay so it's local Ranger endorsed.
