Army Corps of Engineers park with a couple dozen sites. Mowed green grass, trees, on lake Sacajawea part of the Snake River. Min for overnight no connections, $30, $15 seniors. I didn't need the fancy stuff so I didn't stay. There are lots of trees and many yachts moored next to the grass over in the marina. It's a nice place. 3 bars Verizon. Update: I'm too used to doondocking free that I didn't see this good value. Free showers, clean and spacious grounds, flush toilets, hosts, and security, for $15. I couldn't find anything better so I staying tonight.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Looks lovely, but doesn’t open for the season until May 5th. Ended up down the road dry camping downstream from the Ice Harbour Dam just 7 minutes away, behind the visitor centre. Free for up to 14 days. Quiet other than someone shooting rockets across the river at dinner time. Flat gravel area, along the river. Go to the left beyond the Visitor Centre parking lot.
Report Check-InYou have to register for this campground of recreation.gov. If you have a federal access pass it is 1/2 price, current 30 (just electric) or 35 (water and electric). I did not need electric but they do not have non electric sites. The female host was friendly. I was able to get a site by the lake and the sunset was beautiful. It is dark in the campground at night, great for stargazing...if you don't care about the biting flies (these things were on you like mosquitos). We had a peaceful night and the first time I heard the train was just before 7am. The female showers were OK, nothing special (2 showers in the female bathroom).Took a while to get hot, but it finally did. They have water around the canpground and a full spot at the entrance/exit. They lock the front gate at 10pm. The one issue I saw was the only "accessible" sites are water and electric. So you have to pay extra, even if you don't want it, if you need that site.
I added photos from my stay.
