Serenje Soch Inn | Hotel

Basic lodging about 5kms in town. Basic rooms outside the main house with double bed, hot water and semi functioning tv: ZKw230. Rooms inside the main house Zkw200- we did not look at these. Extensive menu BUT they only had fried fish and nshima (pap/ugali/posho) available. We ordered the fish&nshima with fried chips and some cooked veggies- decent. Did not have breakfast here. Road to get to this accommodation is gravel with big potholes- you must go slowly. Workshop outside the lodge and church rehearsal- but it was quiet by 19:00. Nearby primary school in the morning.

As we drove out of town we saw a place called Salala lodge and campsite- right after the Puma Petrol station, worth viewing in our opinion.

Great little lodge that helps to fund a local orphanage. Room with double bed, TV, and hot shower for 230 Kwacha. There is a restaurant that does amazing dinner and breakfast. We had a full bream with chips for 60 Kwacha and a cooked breakfast for less. Not sure about the internet as we didn't use it. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Secure parking. Definitely worth staying if you need a place to stopover in Serenje.

We came here after Mogan Guesthouse was so bad, clean rooms, hot water and cheaper price! 150k per room per night. WiFi is apparently available normally but was down while we were here (often the case!)

Lovely place a bit further out of the noise of the town. single room for 150 (small bed but works for 2 people), and double room for 200. both have ensuite bathroom and hot water, they sometimes have WiFi and you can get food here as well 👍
