ONA Campsite | Established Campground

Maybe the person in the previous comment was sick of Africa (wich we understand sometime 🤣🤣) but dude seriously ?! Have you seen one thing for free, especially a campsite, on this continent ?
Its 1000 pp and its definetly a nice place to spend a night or 2 after or before the border. Big grassy area to camp, super private and quiet. Plenty of toilets available but only one shower in a room (number 3 ! There is no number but its the third one, starting from the road side). It seems like they are still working on building the showers.
Beers are 300, very cold.
The staff is not the most welcoming we have seen, its a local ran place and not many of them speak proper english so that could explain that. Still we felt welcoming enough and we will come back here in the future if needed 😁

Our confidence was gone after 5 minutes. We arrived after dark and asked about a place to sleep in our campervan and how much it would cost. The boss told us it doesn't cost anything. We asked again and he said a second time that we don't have to pay anything. After 5 minutes he said he wanted 500 KSH for security which we politely declined. When we got the bill from the restaurant we were supposed to pay 2000 KSH for the campervan. You will be lied to here from the start. The man who pretended to be the boss suddenly said that his wife was the boss and that he would never have said that we could stay overnight free of charge. We have no problem paying for camping, but not if we are lied to. We left the place without sleeping there.

Lovely campsite with amazing soft grass. 1000KSh pppn. Excellent 1kg mutton, with potato wedges and veggies served at our camp feeds about 4 people, KSh1450.

Flat grassy site. There is no sign from the road. There are two green gates visible from the highway and a short rt driveway to two grassy areas. 1000 each for camping. Helpful staff who can put a meal together for 300 for 2 people. Basic bar and soda. Can buy bottled water. Owner is slightly over friendly but they do make sure you have what you need. Room opened for shower and toilet. Shower was hot for two minutes then freezing cold then no water at all but very clean. Ask for a look around of the vegetable garden, cows, fishpond etc. Place is looked after. Great location very near border.

Warmly received by Andrew. Two nice grass areas to camp on - tents or rooftop vehicles. Kitchen area available for use. He gave us a room to shower. Great stop over just before / after border.
