Description
Commemorates the victims of a local flood in 1979. Designed by Hans Roth who renovated all the Jesuit mission churches of the Chiquitania between 1972 and 1999. "The wood carvings that adorn the sanctuary are the rival of anything seen in the Jesuit missions" (the Lonely Planet). Best visited early morning or late in the afternoon when the red of the rocks make a fantastic contrast to the blue of the sky. The road leading up to the site and mirador is paved with cobble stones all the way. Great views over the surrounding landscape. There is an entrance gate at the bottom of the access road that limits vehicle height to approximately 3 metres.

Really beautiful place. We went in the afternoon when the sun shines beautiful on the rock and the mountain range around this place. Entry is 10bob per person.
Report Check-InWalked up here from the plaza in town, which is a 6,5 km round trip of easy walking with nice views. The woodcarving is beautiful! Don't miss it.

If you like the missions, it's an interesting visit, we are more into senderos and miradors and liked the one in Santiago de Chiquitos more, which is also free. 10bob per person here. Clean baños, no paper. Also came for the toucans, didn't even see one, maybe bad timing, it was already later in the afternoon.
It is really worth to go there. Don't trust Google direction but look for the signs to get there.
