Something not right?

Description

If you want somewhere with full amenities and close to Monteverde and all its attractions, then Camping Verde is for you. It‘s a small site and can fit three small rigs and perhaps one big one. The grounds are very clean and beautiful with a lovely flowing river beside it. Charly is so relaxed and hospitable and will help you out with anything. His wifi is fast, and showers are hot. And if you want a close-up of a Motmot, then look no further, he’ll have them feeding off your hands. Definitely recommend! 6000 colones per adult, children free.

Nice small camping place, the owner is very friendly. Close to the cloud forest entrance.

Report Check-In

Convenient location to access the cloud forest. Compact site next to a busy road, some traffic noise. Hummingbirds and motmots are regular visitors. Good shower. Charlie was very helpful.

This is not just a campground, it’s an experience! You will be camping on Charlie’s property where he lives in his bus. Atmosphere is very calming. Charlie is such a warm person and a great host. Felt like home. Shower and toilet are good and clean, but I wouldn’t say it is a HOT shower, something like lukewarm. 🙂

Charlie told us about a guide called Juan so we booked a night tour with him. It was amazing! Juan speaks fluent english and he is very enthusiastic. We saw so many animals on his tour, even an armadillo!

Price in Camping Verde is now 7000 colones per person per night.

This is a beautiful place to take 5 in a cooler climate. Charlie is a very hospitable host and master of up cycling with great taste in music! If you can’t see him, you’ll hear him in the distance whistling or singing. Warm showers, fast wifi, visiting colibrís and a very relaxed atmosphere.
10/10 cozy sleep ins

Report Check-In

Charlie is a very friendly and hospitable host. His place is walking distance to town. We had good ground to pitch our tent. Clean bathroom and warm shower.

Report Check-In

This place is not pet friendly. We arrived with dogs, and he said that he likes dogs, but they are not good for other animals who are in this place. Then we were not allowed to overnight there.

Este sitio no acepta perros. Llegamos y nos dijo que no podíamos pasar la noche debido a llevar perros, porque otros animales bde l zona los detectan y alteran su paso por allí. Así que no pudimos pasar la noche allí por ir con perros.

If you really want to experience Monteverde, this is the perfect place. The main reason its because of Charly, the owner. He is a local and the kindest man of earth. He knows a lot and really like to share it. We are two girls traveling alone and we felt really seccure, after three days he was like family.
You can see lots of birds and other animals in his place. Also it is in the main avenue, near plenty of reserves and some restaurants too. There is a tiny river beside the camping, and all facilities available. Everything is very clean and tidy all the time, he is a really good host.
Highly recommend, please help his tiny business ❤️‍🩹🦋

Accueil adorable de Charlie eau chaude et accès à sa cuisine. Dans la nature . Arrêt de bus pour la réserve de Monteverde juste en face

Got there and he said we couldn’t fit. Also denied us because of our pets.
Traveling in our 40ft skoolie. Maybe not big rig friendly.

Charlie est adorable et fait tout son possible pour vous mettre à l'aise
Petit spot mais très confortable et calme
A côté d'une petite rivière avec une multitude d'oiseaux

Cool place. Basic but everthing you need. Charly is so helpful. He is a Costa Rican Rolling Stone type of guy :-), what a great and warm personality.

Report Check-In

We loved staying at Charlie’s place! We spent two nights exploring around the area. What a kind and thoughtful man. This is the closest thing to a BnB we have experienced in 8 months of travel, except it’s actually a campsite. Charlie made us coffee, he added charcoal to the fire when we grilled out together and shared a meal and helped us haul water from the creek to do laundry (free) in his washing machine. Good wifi, not a ton of solar, so it is helpful if you have a portable panel that you can move into the sun. Charlie speaks very slowly and clearly in Spanish and it was easy for us to understand him and speak to him in Spanish, even with our limited Spanish skills. He is proud of his clean and beautiful space and flowers and birds are abundant, including a motmot. Showers are only warm, but warm enough to enjoy even with a high temp of only 17C. 6000/night and child free.

Charlie is a very kind and welcoming person and we wish we could’ve stayed longer! He makes you really feel at home! It’s a small area but has place for 1-3 vans.
Charlie is very proud of his Campsite with his own river access and he loves to make art out of recycled material! Perfect spot to stay at when exploring Monte verde

Great small property within 10 min walk of the Maine town. Charlie is an amazing host. he keeps the area very tidy and makes sure to lock the gates for your security. He even started a fire for us to enjoy at night. there is a small path down to the river but there was not much swimming or bathing in the river as we visited in the dry season. the property could fit small tents and 4x4s with rooftop tents. we paid $10 US per night per adult, children stay free.

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed our stay (1 night) there as Carlos is a very enjoyable person. You can walk from the campsite to the city centre of Santa Helena within 20/30 min.
