From the road this place looks mostly like its just a trailer park, and that will throw anyone off that is camping from their vehicle. Down below the office just passed the last row of RV campers are plenty of open flat spots and direct river access in their tent camping area. Water, showers and a bathroom plus direct river access with a swimming hole, dump station, wifi, ice and drinks for sale in the office. Camping was $54, which is not free, of course, but since there is basically nowhere to camp directly off 198, this place will do the job. It's about 5 miles from the entrance to Sequoia Park, and has views from the campground for days. Check in is easy, can drive up, no issues, if it's after hours, you pick your spot and pay on the way out, reservations to come in with your overlander rig are not needed (on most days)

Report Check-InGood place as the campground in Sequoia was full and they were very welcoming there. Note that you won't be next to the river, but there is an access, walking on boulders.
Report Check-InGreat campground with flat spaces fitting all size rigs (not pull through). Full or partial hookup or primitive. Tables, grills. Tent spaces. WiFi. Starlink good signal. No Verizon bars, 2 ATT bars. River access. Peaceful. Easy going. Dogs allowed on leash. Hot showers. Flush toilets.
Report Check-InVery clean restrooms and showers and great managers. They were so helpful. Loved walking by the river with my dog. Wi-Fi worked fantastically well.
Report Check-InVery bad spots, little space and it was not 15 but 40$, but it's near the park it is OK if you don't have choice and can pay the price.
