Peru
We planned to do a day hike to the smaller lagoon higher up, however at this point the trial disappears into the water and there is a dodgy cliff scramble to get around it. We attempted the cliff climb but gave up due to lack of hand holds, (halfway up only loose grass tufts) don’t recommend without climbing gear. It’s a long drop into the lake :(
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Somehow we got here by walking on a "path" in the middle of herbs and rocks, then as the level of the lake was high we were blocked in front of a rocky facade. Only swimming was possible to continue hiking to the glacier. This hike is only accessible if the water level is low.
Report Check-InFrom this point it is not possible to continue the trek. There is visible small path up, but it is too steep and too dangerous to cross this part. The guard at the parking lot told us it is not possible to pass to other lagunas by walk. You can go by boat to cross this lake. But he wanted 300s!! It is too much.
Report Check-InThis Trail is blocked with wood. But there is a other trail just on the left. Follow this trail always on the left up and you will get to the Laguna Artesoncocha.
