Nice spot for a night, it seems no one is charging entrance for the park at the moment (low season?) so free and view of the lobos. Not very level but plenty of rocks to sort that out. Hardly any wind when we were there.

Report Check-In

Fantastic place to pitch our tent in the hollow in front of the stone beach. Parked the bikes to give some wind protection, manageable. Spoke to some fisher man. Very secure place in my opinion. Spectacular sunset. Many sea birds, sea lobos and a sea otter. El candelabro in walking distance. Payed entrance for 1 day 11 soles pp and stayed 3 nights im the park at different locations. Loved it.

I keep laughing at the last check in and I guess you shouldn't camp in March. we had a great night, wind actually picked up after sunset and then really died down around 10 PM. was not that windy at all, very manageable. would only suggest one night as there were quite a few people/locals that came around the next day. we left as we felt too many people saw us. there are reports of robberies south of here. great spot for a night and TOTALLY worth the drive out. there is an obvious road (dirt) to the left off the main road, follow out and then follow your GPS/location until you arrive in area and park anywhere. not very level but some rocks around. happy trails!

Beautiful, remote and especially windy place!
We spent here a night and a day, without seeing anybody (except some fisher boats).
No signal.

beautiful desolate park, sadly not the place for a rooftent. we spent most of the night wondering when we were going to take off. wind died a little by dawn/ early morning. no one around.

Report Check-In

We arrived after sunset and the view is fantastic! Birds, the sea and the small little beach. We are not sure if the road is for every car because some parts are really steep and neither for ours, and that's why we put up this post to warn everybody. Still outstanding!

Few fishermen here, but noone moved us on. We did a loop clockwise around the park to see all the wildcamps and settled on this one. No facilities but spectacular. Wind doesn't bother us, but there is no place to avoid it in this area.

More generally about the park : we didn't see any 'sand dunes', most of the hills were hard rock, with a layer of sand on top. I think it would be pretty tough to get bogged in soft sand around here. Main issue is steepness - some people are obviously braver then others when launching down a steep slope. We had a great time riding around in our 2x4 4runner.

a guardian on motobike forbid us to overnight at this spot; camping is allowed only in Lagunilla;

beautiful peaceful spots to park-up along the cliffs. well worth the small effort to get here, away from the crowds of the southern shore. no facilities.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot overlooking the sea, with many birds and in the morning some sea lions. Little beach just in front. Sheltered from all roads.

From the main road to Atenas, turn left just after km sign 35 (dirt track).
