Description

Best Spot for us after 3 months in Guatemala. A big lake with a huge flat for Camping. The locals are super friendly and welcome. It was quiet and safe all day and night. The locals said the area is very safe and calm. There are some Restaurants close by. Check Out Doña Irma, they have great Ceviche and fried fish from the lake. They told us we were the first tourists in this Area and a Family Invited us to a Dinner with Ants 🐜 😅 a local speciality They have here once a Year. It is definitely worth the ride, the streets are good and paved in both directions. if you pass through, from here in direction to the Guatemalan border you have to take two "ferrys"or rafts😅 to cross the lake. they go every 30-60min and charge 50-100 Peso, depending on the size of your Vehicle. 4GLTE Aviable may wifi at the restaurants. we didn't check. Lake has warm and nice water.
