There are free tent camping spots, which I just slept in my van at. It's free but you need to register. I have a small astro van but you could easily park a 170 in most of the spaces. Showers, water, fire rings, 3/4 bars with ATT. I was the only one on Saturday night. there's about 20 spaces
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Only campers at the campground on a Sunday night. No pay information and the office is closed. Nice level platform sites with tables and grills, no services. Full VZ service.
Report Check-InOP is mistaken, sites are not free. Although ranger said summer is slow, so I guess it might be possible to leave before paying. There is no pay station, so "registering" would mean visiting the visitor's station to pay.
Hot shower was wonderful, and there's a water spigot in front of bathhouse. Sites are at least $15, maybe more based on size and season. The park has bees and a wildlife rehabilitation program- check out the birds of prey!
