Description

very large flat open BLM spot nestled between hills and berms for privacy and shelter from the wind. nice view of the surrounding area. just off the main road through thermopolis. three to four bar Verizon. it's a dirt road once you get off highway 20 but it's well maintained with minimal washboards and any vehicle can make it

Best rock pit I’ve ever stayed in. Ideal stop between Thermopolis and Casper. Flat, well worn gravel road, not too far off the main highway, quiet and isolated, interesting kinda weird surroundings to explore, decent place for amateur paleontologists. Parking next to gravel mountain provided us a warm and cozy spot for the night. Do recommend.

Nice, large, quiet spot. Multiple rigs, large and small, would fit here. It’s nestled between small hills that provide wind protection, although it was still pretty windy. Surprisingly good connectivity with AT&T.
The spot is about 3 miles back on a dirt road, but the road is well enough maintained that any type of vehicle could get back there.

Really decent flat road in. Nice quiet spot. got in about about 5pm and ate dinner. Only 2 cars drove by. Plenty of room for another couple vehicles.

Very nice site. We camped 200 yards above the site because there was already 2 campers. Extremely windy area so tent is not recommended.

As described, good for overnight stop, well maintained road leading in to spot. Quiet night, no noise. Convenient, not far off highway.

As described, nice spot, almost flat. I had the place to myself and plan to ride to the top of birdseye and copper mountain in the morning.

very open spot with good views. remote but not to far off the highway. two to three bars of at&t

Report Check-In

Easily accessible dirt road off the highway. Road conditions were good and there were only a few potholes. There were many pronghorn in the area so drive slow at night.
Went .2mi past the original coordinates to large flat space on the left. The dirt mount and boulders provided some coverage from the wind. 2 AT&T bars!

Great spot and depending on where you park you get a little view too, absolutely no one else out here but it is November so that’s not too surprising.

nice spot. very secluded. quite. large enough for a Class A or large 5th Wheel to get down here and turn around. i was the only one here. i did not stay overnight, however just cause the internet was hit and miss. 1-3bars Roaming TMobile 3G and 1 bar LTE verizon. however, phone calls would be about all you could do. it took a minute to send texts on roaming TMobile, but it was possible. i wouldn’t begin to binge watch the next 3seasons of your fav show here. i stayed just down the dirt road coming in. there’s not many turnoffs, but there’s some. road coming in was fine. no washboarding

The access road is dirt but very smooth and well maintained. camp spot is a gravel pit and was quite with good cell service.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a quick overnight. Rolled in around 10pm with lots of wind. Left around 8am n was getting toasty. Construction on road to get out there so had to follow pilot car, no biggie.

I'm not so sure this is BLM land, but it does seem to be usable for an overnight. this appears to be an occasionally active gravel pit. there was no equipment here when we stayed, but there are dozer tracks and you can tell where heavy equipment has dug into the hillside and berms. when you turn off Birdseye Rd onto the gravel drive you go up a slight incline, then it "Y's". the left opens up into a flat area that can handle about 3 large rigs. if you continue up the right side driveway, up the hill, it opens up to another flat area that can handle 1 big rig. someone has made a stone fire ring up there. from there there is a small, slightly overgrown road continuing up the hill. a van or truck camper should be able to go up there, but I wouldn't take a big rig.
