Description
Nice free campground. Each spot has a fire pit & camping table. There are pit toilets and rubbish bins. A little hard to maneuver a trailer but doable. It’s a clean place.
It’s right next to the water tower and a police station, so should be very safe. The small town seems pretty quiet.
Would totally recommend going there!
Super big rigs might have a problem finding a spot but camper vans and mid-size should both fit easily. Not too far off the highway so minimal noise there. The train runs by every so often.

Spent the night solo and felt quite safe and secure. Awesome FREE site. Toilet wasn’t ideal, but was a helpful amenity to have for those without self contained rigs. Great stay, thanks Gleichen!
Report Check-InWouldn't recommend if you're looking to sleep in a tent or if you're traveling alone. Yes it is right next to the rcmp station but it's very exposed and close to the houses. Got there and immediately started looking for a different spot for the night. Didn't help that when I drove through the little town there was an intersection that had been yellow taped off and there were 3 rcmp trucks with lights on dealing with a situation.

Report Check-InGreat campground, good cell signal, level spots, dump and picnic tables. Not sure if pit toilet was good or not as we had no need to use it. Quite a few campers arrived, some in vans, some in tents.

Report Check-InGreat free camping spot. You’ll see it right under the GLEICHEN water tower. Right across from the police station. You can hear the highway slightly as it’s not too far off. Has a pit toilet, grass, gravel(for trailer parking),fire pit, and table. Train runs by every so often in the distance.

Beautiful spot not far from hyw 1 perfect for an overnight. As described by others, well maintained and clean. Thank you to the community of Gleichen for keeping this up.

Report Check-InGreat spot! A number of free sites with a pit toilet on site. Just behind the pit toilet there is a sign for a trailer dump with water, between the site and the police station. Water is directly above the trailer dump but is blue handle and not labelled non-potable. We drank it without issue.

Report Check-InVery nice and quiet place. There are lots of spaces. Some are about 8 m long, one is about 25 m long for big rigs. Vailt toilets are clean. Each space has a pic nic table and a fireplace. The water tower makes for some great drone pictures. Can absolutely recommend staying here. Not much to do in the area though so mostly to spend a night while passing through. Good cell phone reception.
