Description
Sumpter County Park. Tent, RV, plenty of trees for Hammocks. Horses allowed. Between High Hills of Santee Passage and Lake Moultrie Passage. Bath House with showers, RV dump station. Electric and Water at each spot. Over 100 sites. $7.00 per night for tent site, collected by the Caretaker morning and/or evening; or you can call and register. Great, quiet spot. Full bathroom facility. pricing hasn’t been updated on their site or on here. Current pricing is $20/night for water and 30 amp, $25/night for water and 50 amp. Dump station on site. Water has a lot of iron and stained our shower and ceramic RV toilet in the four days we stayed.

They no longer have a cheaper tent only site so the cheapest is $20 but it has electricity. I wouldn't use the water for anything since it has a very strong iron smell. There are 3 showers with plenty of hot water but know you'll smell like rust for a few hours after your shower. There are about 100 sites but they're all right next to each other. When I was here at most 3 groups stayed the night so everyone was fairly far apart but if it's busy you'll be right next to someone. The 30 amp normal electric outlets are scatter all around so you'll have to drive around to find them.
I called their phone number and they said someone would come in the evening to collect payment and register campers so grab an empty spot without a reservation tag and wait.

Report Check-Invery nice campground with tons of campsites. there were horses which was so cool! we got to the campsite around 1am and didn't see anywhere to pay. had a very peaceful night sleep here.
