A few places (6-8) near the lake, behind the logging camp, very beautiful scenery, some firepits, boat ramp, nice lake, also for big rigs, found this place in WikiCampCanada App.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very dirty, a lot of trash. A few locals came, they were drunk and stoned, loud music from the cars. We didn't felt comfortable and didn't stay.
Report Check-InVery rough, muddy, and buggy. Decided to not stay here and instead returned to the Bob Quinn Lake rest stop a mile south.
Report Check-InDrove down to the spots by the lake (which is gorgeous) but rather than a grassy area it was a lot of dirt and mud after recent rain. I knew if it rained overnight my 2WD promaster wouldn’t make it back out so decided to drive back to the rest stop by the airport a few minutes earlier on the highway. The bugs were REALLY bad but expected that.
Report Check-InGorgeous view!! If you have kayaks you might plan for a 2- nighter. Fantastic kayak lake.
Getting into the camp feels awkward but guys who work at the logging company say “no problem.” We chatted with them for an hour and a half!
After you make the turn for Bob Quinn Lake you’ll turn left into the logging company camp. A sign says trucks enter/exit (or something like that). You go through the business lot to the far end. Take a left and go down the steep hill. Best for short rigs. You’re going to need lots of power to get back up that hill.
Report Check-InReally nice place ! The view is woooh !! Easy to go with our 28 ft skoolie. You can swim in the lake , just some wheels at the beginning :/ .
The morning we have heard wolfs !
A bit tricky to find but we’ll worth the effort. Take the first left off the hwy past the Bob Quinn Aerodrome rest area. Bear right and drive through the small active logging camp. Slight left and then right down a hill to a large grassy clearing. Loads of room for several RVs/campers. Our truck house fit in just fine at a quiet and delightful lakeside spot. Great swimming and beautiful view of the glaciated coast mountains.
Report Check-InWe went to this location, it I not the best road down to the lake. Very muddy here and overgrown. It was already dark but we decided not to stay. We were headed to the next rest area shown on here (40 minutes south) but as soon as we turned right there was a rest area. We are staying at this rest area tonight. No TMobile cell service.
Report Check-InTake the exit from the highway at the sign for the telephone.
The road winds behind the work camp and down to the lake.
Nice views and quiet. We cleaned up some garbage left by others. Please pack out what you pack in and enjoy
nice quiet place. some locals came for a dip in the lake but no problems.
A must stop for wild camping.
I haven't seen a pit toilet but I haven't really looked either. I'm pulling a 22ft trailer and easily fit.
Beautiful place by the lake. Mozzies/bugs are not too bad. Behind the logging camp. Workers partying at this place but did not stay late as they start really early in the morning. Some have been talking with us until 9.30pm, really cool. There is no pit toilet, just a flat-ish area to park.
