Description

A smaller set of beautiful waterfalls not far from the entrance, with a few large pools to swim in. Lots of picnic tables, clean washrooms, not many people during the week. At sunset, hundreds of swallows fly through the big waterfall into the cave behind!
25pp entrance + 20pp entrance to the town. You can camp here in the secure parking lot, surrounded by nature and listening to the waterfalls as you fall asleep also! Watch your step as we saw a really well camouflaged little snake in the parking lot and the guard told us that the snake was venomous.

We loved these falls and camping here. Pedro and Carlos were beyond welcoming and the falls were super refreshing after a hot morning at Yaxchilán. $25 to enter, $50 to camp - per person. Nice clean bathrooms and cold shower. Several nice pools to swim in and tables with shade to relax under. Its smaller and less well known than other falls so we had it mostly to ourselves besides some local families that came by. Very quiet and peaceful night of sleep. Run by a community collective from Nueva Palestina. They welcomed us to come into the town the next day to do our shopping and we were happy with the selection of shops - good produce, tortillas and misc groceries. Definitely worth a stop!

If you are looking for a place to play in the waterfalls , jhang in your hammock, shower up for the next leg of your journey and have a quiet sleep in the jungle then this is it!
Camping overnight was just $100 pesos for 2 people in a van. No extra charge for the showers, toilets or even to use a palapa by the water for the day!
We had a great, clean stay.
Jeremiah is a nice guy so we tipped him $50 pesos but it’s not necessary.
