Description

Incredible local family! Most warmhearted people I met on this trip; simply amazing to meet them. They have a room for travelers, serve food and don't tell you a price. So you decide how much to give. Can't say how much I recommend this place!
Jonas also guides you up the volcano, for a third of the price you pay in an agency. They have an organization of local guides, where guides are not exploited as they are with the agencies.

Latest Check-Ins

Jonas is a great guy and his family is the most welcoming ever. Everything said in the previous comments is totaly true! We didnt stay with them, but spent some time while planning our trip to Acatenango. Much better price then all the ripoff tour companies and here you can be sure the money stays with the local guides 100%.
It only was a bit complicated for us to find the Hospedaje as it does not have any sign and even locals were sending us to different places. When driving from Antigua, take the first right, and then it is a small narrow street o the right side between fences, not big enough for cars. Park your vehicle on the bigger road and just walk the alley, last house on the left. If you get lost, ask for Jonas not the Hospedaje, I think that is a safer bet.
Even better to give him a call, he will pick you up at the main road or you can plan your trip over the phone.

I was going to put this place on Ioverlander, but somehow forgot! I have been there in March 2022.
I can confirm everything mentioned in the description!
I highly recommend either hiking the volcano on your own as a daytrip (which is possible if you start in the morning) or do the overnight tour with Jonas.
PLEASE stay away from the tour agencies as they are ripping of those poor people in the village!
