Description

Added note : can fit a ring of RV’s here with the addition of a road that leads down behind the hill hidden from road. Would say a total of 4 RV’s can fit here at one time without 4WD needed or high clearance.

Good for a one night stay. Can fit a RV but more suitable for a car. Located by the 3 volcano’s overlooking Albuquerque. No services. Relatively quite as you are 5 to 10 min from the interstate on a less traveled highway.

Fantastic spot!! We had the whole lot to ourselves last night and slept great. There is a road that has steady traffic but it eventually turns into white noise. Fantastic view of the city, especially at night, with planes taking off and lights sparkling. Not to mention the 3 volcanos directly to your left. We saw several police officers pass by but none paid any attention to us.

Just off the road, parked in the overflow parking right before the main gate. Got in late so the gate was closed, but the overflow parking area had plenty of room. Stayed 1 night with no issue. Several people used the lot to turn around through the night and there were early morning hikers that parked across from us. The road has some noise, but nothing too overwhelming. Good for a quick sleeping spot

The spot itself is pretty good for being so close to ABQ - I parked down the hill and slept fine 1 night in a roof tent without earplugs, though it was noisy. 0-1 bar 4g intermittently with Verizon. I don't know what happened here overnight but my car/tent had about 50 of these big moths in every single crevice. 24 hours later there's still moths flying out from random corners

Just off the road so traffic is very audible but nothing crazy. The view is nice and it’s easy to get to and from the freeway. There was one other car here but they left so it’s very spacious.

Such a gem with incredible night views of the city! 5 bars att with weboost. 2/3 without. Only issue is street racers seem to lovevthis road, so expect revving engines at night. Stayed three nights here.

So many level places to camp for the night along this road

odd spot just off the side of the highway, camped here for 1 night in my 22-foot motorhome. needed earplugs to sleep. within walking distance of the 3 sisters volcano hike- easy hike that i did with my chihuahua. pretty sure a cop saw me pull into this spot but didn’t say anything.

We stayed here 3 days in our 40ft skoolie. We stayed stealth camped leaving generator onboard and keeping everything inside the bus. Spent one day at the volcanos. It’s a 2.8 mile hike with an optional extra mile and it’s about a mile hike to and from the trail from here. We hiked it with a 3 and 5 year old and they did the whole hike themselves. This spot is SEVERELY Under rated. I loved this spot. With the addition of the volcanos there was hot air balloons every morning one day it was hundreds. Just amazing. We would have stayed much longer if we would have known this was a great spot.

Post sentence : one day we also watched planes take off. All small planes and they took off right over us. Very cool.

Note though. If you don’t like stealth camping and want to be away from cars driving this is not the spot for you. This is the side of a busy road.
