Wow! What a beautiful property! We pulled in to a closed gate, sent Andrea a WhatsApp message and within 15 minutes she and Dad were back to welcome us. We didn’t read all the reviews to see Tuesday’s are their day off. So make sure you message her if you know when you plan to be here.
For big rigs there is not electricity at site but there is availability if you need it. It was warm during the day but at night cool with the winds & a pleasure for sleeping!
The views are spectacular of Arenal and the Lake. Sweet dogs to keep you company. We did walk to the beautiful Eucalyptus forest and did a little bird watching.
Yes cold showers. Multiple toilets. All clean and spacious.
Yes a working ranch with 120 cattle, a few goats & sheep.
Andrea & her Dad have had the 148 hectare property for 25 years.
Definitely the most beautiful, clean and well maintained campground in Costa Rica!! We stay 2 nights and could have spent 2 weeks here relaxing!!

Report Check-In

I recommend everyone to stay here! The view is so beautiful! Sunset, sunrise!! Wow!!! Very friendly owner, she gave us great tips where to go next. Clean showes and toilets!

… wonderfull place, as described! Andrea is superfriendly. Incredible scenery!

ATTENTION: Correct contact number is +506 8326 2701 the person at the other number is no-longer part of this beautiful camp spot.

Views of the lake and volcano from this hilltop oasis. Day use and camping. Lots of space. Even for the big rigs. There are 3 shelters and even a trailer to rent if you’d like. Electricity and water available at the shelters.

Working cattle ranch with the addition of goats and sheep.

Gate is open 9am-5:30pm Wednesday-Monday. Camping available on Tuesdays by reservation. Always good to what’s app Andrea to check availability and if you plan on arriving after 5:30 you can call and make arrangements. Andrea speak fluent Spanish, and very good English.

We stayed here on the way south and again on the way north. Loved everything about this beautiful place. Andrea is wonderful and don’t forget to ask about he Ramen.

Report Check-In

One of the best campgrounds on our tour so far. The space is great, the toilets and showers are very clean and nice. Andrea is a very friendly and helpful person, also giving us tips about our further tour where to go and where to stay away. A place with a great view overseeing the lake and direct sight on the volcano. Make sure to give it a visit ! Be careful to use the correct number for contact and reservation, the number in the description is outdated and the guy is saying the campground is closed permanently. It’s definitely not. Use the number in the comment after mine, Andrea will respond within a short period of time.

What a fabulous location with amazing views of the Lake Arenal & volcano!

Best to arrive before 5:30 pm. If arriving after dark, make arrangements ahead of time with Andrea so she can open the gate on the main road. Flush toilets, cold showers & very clean. Fire pits, tables, sinks, & 3 covered shelters. Two shelters offer covered vehicle parking. One has elevated platform for tents or to hangout & watch sunrise. Electric outlets, & lights at each shelter. Can be windy at this location.

Any vehicle can drive up the road & turn around including trailers or large overlanding rigs. Lots of flat space for overlanding vehicles to park. There is an excellent short hike to an amazing rainbow eucalyptus tree grove.

I highly recommend this awesome camping spot. It’s about 25-30 minute drive to La Fortuna. 7,000 colones per person.

Note: Andrea has rescued dogs & cows on site. Please pack out trash as there is no gov’t trash collection here. No wifi at moment but we had cell coverage.

Stunning views and Andrea is a top notch host!

Very big camp side.
Beautiful views!
Friendly people, nice fire pit!
The volcano is beautiful from here!

Report Check-In

Highly recommended! Lovely view, very quiet at night, nice owners. They are not always open (see reviews below) so do text Andrea beforehand.

Report Check-In

keep an eye out on the opening hours, they have a locked gate right on the main road (not in view of campground) when they're closed

Report Check-In

Amazing views of lake and volcano. 4 covered camping areas, large area for additional camping. 2 story viewing platform. Power, lights, and wash basin with potable water in covered areas. Slow wifi at reception, not available evenings and Tuesdays. No Claro cell coverage. Lots of grass and tables for day use(3500). Owners are super friendly and can set you up with all kinds of activities. Price is the same as in the description. Worth it. Highly recommend this place.

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful view! Highly recommend this campspot. Lake and volcano are stunning. We camped by the kiosk close to the flag, and they set up string lights in the kiosk for us at night. It wasn’t too windy when we were there.
WiFi is only available from 9-6 near reception. Check out is at 11am. There’s a late check out option (6pm). We didn’t ask how much it is. Showers and bathrooms are clean. No trash disposal.

Report Check-In

What a great camp spot. Can see it would not be plesent if windy. But it was fantastic when we were there.
There are three shelters which have gravel under them. Power, lights, water, and table. Toilets clean, shower cold but clean. Good communication through what's app. The sun rises at 5am and is worth getting up for.

Report Check-In

We asked if we could look at the Campsite, but she only allowed one of us and without Cellphone. 8500 pppn and 5000 for Children. Beautiful view but did not stay because it was very windy and muddy on the Campground and just felt unwelcoming for this price.

Report Check-In

Overall our experience here was great in terms of friendliness and the breathtaking views, it’s well equipped with a little shop and toilets, shower area, nice sheltered areas as well. Unfortunately we went on a windy night and being on top of a hill, it made it a very noisy night. So try to avoid windy nights.. otherwise definitely worth it! 8,500 pp

Report Check-In

it was closed today even if Google said the opposite so try to call them before to go !

Report Check-In

What a nice spot!

Definitely the best views we had of the volcano and Lake Arenal.

The camping area has several shelters with water, light and electricity. Bathrooms are clean.

The dogs on the property are very sweet and love to play fetch. You can take a short walk up to the Eukalyptus rainbow forest on the property. Very unique!

Report Check-In

Very beautiful place with a stunning view at the lake and volcano. We went in low season and it was good to drive with our 4x4. Unfortunately we arrived at a closed gate. It seems you have to make a reservation first. There is a sign with number and WhatsApp to contact the manager but at the gate there is no/poor connection. Just before we arrived at another spot we got in touch with the manager. He was very kind and we were welcome to stay. The facilities were very good and clean and we parked our car with rooftop tent beneath a shelter which had electricity.

Report Check-In

It will be hard to top this place. Incredible views, the owners are so nice, and accommodating. We basically had the place ourselves. Stayed 2 nights. Gates locked at night so we felt very safe. Brand new bathrooms and showers installed 4 weeks ago, very clean. Cold showers. Well lit. They have several shelters with electricity, lights, and sinks with running water. The volcano and lake views are stunning. You can also hike up to the rainbow eucalyptus forest. Surrounded by cows, toucans and you can hear howler monkeys in the distance. Their dogs are so nice and friend and love to play fetch! Highly recommend this spot, and would absolutely come back.

Report Check-In

Great camping spot with a stunning view of the lake, Arenal Volcano, cerro Chato and even the Tilarán windmills. Very comfortable shelters with water, electricity and clean toilets and showers. Beautiful place to see the sunrise and connect with nature
