Namibia
A locally owned and run place. They offer everything from traditional chalets, to simple en suite rooms to camp sites.
We came to camp, but given the price, we opted for an en-suite family room (NAD 850 for 2 adults and 2 children; two double beds in one room). They offer many activities for children: trampoline, driving small cars, a small playground and pool (empty when we visited) and an opportunity to feed the ostriches. Quirky, but the money goes to the local people who were extremely friendly and helpful when we visited. You need a bit if patience, but it is extremely cheap. They also offer a laundry service, so we took the opportunity to sleep in a real bed and have our clothes washed after 40 days on the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Apparently the owners are now focused on another Lodge projet and the regular staff is no more there. The camp is completly neglected, the ablution block was closed not maintained no water at the beginning then wter arrived but Bo hot water and the poor girl who welcome us didn't even know the price for a camp site : 150 pppn which is expensive given what is offered. It was late so we stayed but leave early morning.
Report Check-InWe arrived at Kolosi quite late and the receptionist had already gone home. However after being called she was with us and ready to help in like 10 minutes.
They were very few guests, however it was very well maintained. It was extremely clean and the place was in great conditions.
Apart from camping in your own tent, they also offer Safari tents with beds and rooms.
There's a horse roaming around the tents and they also have ostriches, peacocks, birds,...
I absolutely recommend this place.
And for cyclists - it's directly at the road so no detour. Few cars on the road - always great. And so few cars on the road that the noise from passing cars didn't bother us at all.
Report Check-InNice stopover on the way to Ngoma Bridge.
Nice and clean room with a doublebed. Not much water coming out of the shower. very cheap B&B for two persons, one night only 650N$.
all run by local people.
