If you just drive a little bit further, there's a campsite (Don Guillermo). Pretty nice and very quite.
Report Check-InNice spot in the desert. We arrived as the Humberstone site was closing, but the guard said it was perfectly fine to camp overnight. Fairly windy in the evening (coocking challenge!), but quiet at night. Beautiful starry sky and felt like we had the entire desert to ourselves, except for some distant lights of Humberstone/mining sites.
This spot is perfectly fine except for some default trash, but the next day we discovered there are decent dirt roads going into the desert behind it, with many more good options for 4x4 with high clearance.
