Flat pullout place just before 3873 Carbon Cyn Rd, 700ft off busy PCH. Fire dept station at the cross on PCH. Quiet spot, in a hilly residential area with wild vegetation on the right. Space for 2-3 vehicles. Limited space to turn back. We have a 21’ van, no problem. No sign, nobody disturbed us. A resident took a picture of our van from his car in the morning, but nobody came even though we
stayed one good hour afterwards.

Report Check-InWe stayed the night here. I don’t think it’s private property. It’s a pullout on Malibu Carbon Canyon Rd. The left side of the road has gated driveways to homes. The right side of the road (the side with the pullout) is just a Canyon drop off.
Obviously be respectful and low key as there are people’s homes in the hills on the left side of the road.
We stayed one night and had no issues. Nice and quiet.
Report Check-InWe arrived at this spot around 6pm, one other van there. This guy had the genius idea to barbecue his dinner outside his van (in a valley that totally burned down due to wildfires not long ago). Needless to say the fire department was called by one of the property owners, followed by the police, and we were all told to leave. This is apparently private property - when speaking to the police, it sounded like they didn’t care much about people sleeping there but since some jackass started treating it like a campground, the fire department does not want to risk it. Please do not barbecue behind your van on a upscale residential street in Malibu - or anywhere. It’s a shame such a good spot was ruined by stupid people.

Report Check-InSlept there with my minivan, a pop-up roof RV came a little bit later. No one bothered me, arrived around 11pm and left around 8am. Flat and not much traffic
