Driving down coy street on my way to the campground and saw this empty lot on a hill. No signs posted in the lot. No amenities or shade so charge up that battery. 1 night
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This lot now has a for sale by owner sign at each of the 2 entrances I drove by. I did drive up into the lot which seems like a good place to spend the night, but was hesitant to stay, because someone does own the lot even though there weren’t any no overnight camping signs. Other than that it is very close to town and the park entrance.
Report Check-InGood spot, descriptions are accurate. Large enough that it could easily take a handful of campers without people feeling on top of each other.
One woman stopped to ask what we were doing there (neighborhood watch-type situation?), only saw a few cars pass by otherwise.
Report Check-InSpent one night. Saw no one and no signs posted. Super quiet. Great spot for a big rig like ours. Verizon works OK.
Report Check-Inplenty of parking in the empty lot and was not bothered for my one night stay.
Report Check-InSpent last night here. Quiet place off the highway. Actually talked to a police officer this morning who cruised up here. He said they check it just to make sure nothing bad is going on. They won’t bother you if you look legit.
Report Check-InAs states. Road is quiet, heard some people hanging out in the trees out of eyesight most of the night but were harmless. Hung for a while the following day and a cop would drive through a couple times an hour but never spoke to us.
Report Check-InSurprisingly tucked away. There’s a local-favorite ice cream shack a block away. This is way better than the $36/night campground that’s just as close to the road. (But great hikes there!) Thanks for adding this good freebie, perfect for my solar :)
