Lovely laid back campsite. Excellent kitchen facilitg where you can use all amenities incl stove , washing up basin, plates, serving bowls and cutlery. Lounge and dining seating plus use of washing machine. Two pools in garden. Quiet considering where it is - locwly train crossing bridge infrequently . Thanks to Amin and team for looking after us.

Report Check-In

Its a very cute campsite, employees are friendly and helpful. The pool was a little slippery thats why we went inside the other pool next to the house.

We had a great stay at Thorn Tree!
The campsite shaded by large trees and adjacent to the river offered a tranquil and refreshing setting. Staff were remarkably welcoming and attentive, providing excellent service!
The bar area provided a relaxed atmosphere for unwinding in the evenings, while the well-equipped kitchen facilities allowed for convenient meal preparation.
Ablutions were clean and provided hot water.
Concerns about mosquitoes, often highlighted in reviews, were unfounded during our stay in February. The presence of mosquitoes was minimal, certainly less intrusive than we’ve experienced in other locations.
We wholeheartedly recommend this campsite to those seeking a serene and well-maintained outdoor retreat.

Actually, the place is quite good. It has both rooms, tented chalets and a campsite. I met Amiin who really welcomed us well, he was quite handy when we needed help well along with the other staff. I stayed for 5 days. there is also hot showers on the premises. Just go with a bottle of Mosquito spray for the nights there is a small narrow river near by which houses these aliens 😅. Otherwise it's a very good and quite place. We were lucky to see the hippos come on the premises

Pretty place in the wild, grass and very nice and great trees, large shadow under them, collective kitchen, available armchairs, coaches, tables in a pretty common open room. Friendly owner and staff.
10 €/p
It’s not big, a lot of charmed, so quite, a portuguese small village square atmosphere for this space so cute.

Nice place at Maramba River. Shower was cold, but everything was clean. Nice bar area to chill and work. WiFi is available but not great. We stayed two nights, I can recommend the place.

Report Check-In

The ”campground” was just a clearing with high grass. Pretty uneven, too. Ablution ok, but small. We could use power from one of the tents. $10/pppn. The pool was dirty when we came and the staff didn’t clean it until the evening and then still the bottom was slimy. Maybe for a one night stop. The railroad is also vey close.

The mosquito capital of the world! Dry season sees the river so low it turns into a breeding ground for mosquitoes...by the millions. It's a lovely place but it's spoiled by the fact that you're constantly being swarmed. Friendly staff and nice facilities. Hippo visited the pool one night as did Buffalo.

This is a beautiful spot with a great communal kitchen space. The location is very convenient and ownership super friendly. We heard elephants all night and appreciated the grassy flat parking spot for our Defender

That being said, I have never seen this many mosquitos in my whole life and many years traveling in Africa. In the dry season, the river becomes so low that it’s basically stagnant. With spray we just ignored it but then there was loud truck traffic and elephants smashing in the nearby trees that kept us up through the night.

I think if you went during rainy season or if you weren’t camping in a rooftop tent it might be a bit quieter / less buggy.

All that said we did have a nice time eating dinner in the kitchen area and did like the ownership a lot! Just sharing the full experience

We stayed two non consecutive nights. Quiet although near the road. Well sign posted. Clean area. Hot water and clean ablutions. Lovely well equipped kitchen area, nice honesty bar and communal area with sofas.
We camped which was just on a grass area.
Wifi good and security on the ball.
We saw hippo walk through the play area and an elephant munching trees on the edge of camp, crocs in river.
A great place to stay and so reasonably priced for Zambia $10pp (accepts dollar and kwatcha)

$10/night to camp. We camped in our own tent here for 4 nights - it was a peaceful stay. Elephants walked through the camp and a hippo came up onto the lawn one evening. There’s a nice chill out area with sofas and tables. Okay kitchen with all the bits you’ll need - if you’re cycling note that the nearest food shop is in town so best to get what you need en route. Water is potable. Toilets / showers aren’t great but they are warm (and there’s a LOT of mosquitos!)

We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Camping is just on a spot of grass behind safari tents, without any hook ups, so it may not be for everyone. There's a well -stocked kitchen to use, plus a nice lounge to relax in. The staff are awesome and the atmosphere is peaceful. $10 USD pppn.

Great campsite along the river. There is some noise from the road but nothing too bad. Elephants and hippo’s frequently visit. There’s a well equipped kitchen, including an oven, which you can use for free. Okay WiFi and ablutions with hot water (lot of mozzies in ablutions). By far the cheapest campsite around Livingstone with $10pppn.

Note: watch out for the male goat “freaky”. He attacked us twice!

I stayed here for 4 nights. 10usd Night. was really nice and peaceful. saw a hippo and croc in the river on a couple of the days. the cat marmalade is super friendly and so are the 3 goats. staff were really nice. definitely recommend. wifi was actually not too bad and kitchen/lounge area was great to relax

Very nice place❤️❤️❤️ we stay 2 nights her
Pool 😍

Report Check-In

Actually like a bush camp. We stood on a lightly grassy spot with a shade tree and lots of elephant dung at the edge of the tented camp. Since it has already rained here, the ground is a bit soft. Maybe not the ideal place after persistent rain. Otherwise very pleasant and close to town.

Report Check-In

Not at all as previously reviewed and we were very disappointed. Warm welcome but that is all. Nothing to recommend about this place and we are pretty hardy campers. The ablutions are awful. Paid $10pp.

Report Check-In

I wanted to camp here but was told I must park up behind the chalets but not close by, there are no camping facilities, water or power hook up etc, seemed nice enough but not suitable for camping.
Wild camping would have the same effect so moved on

Report Check-In

Excellent. Home away from home. We camped here for a week and couldn’t leave even if we wanted to. Hot showers, clean toilets wonderful kitchen supportive staff… sometimes hippos and elephants in the evening a croc in the river. This was excellent

Beautiful chalets and tents, but they are very happy to accommodate campers! We arrived without a booking, and David showed us around and said we were welcome to camp and use their very clean ablutions and communal kitchen and bar area. We were the only ones on a Saturday night, and really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely recommend this lodge. We only saw two other campsites around Livingstone before arriving here, but given the limited options in the area, this is definitely where you would like to stay! Very conveniently located between the falls and town.

Everything is already written😉. Nice place with friendly staff and Claire is just beautiful! Nice lappa with Lounge, fire place and honestly bar where we enjoyed a few beautiful nights with Claire and other travelers. Highly recommended!
US$ 10 pppn

nothing to add to what is already said😊. We were alone here at this beautiful little green Oasis. We could park our car in the back next to the lounge area.

It's 10$pppn
