Parking lot in the suburb of Raleigh, trailhead to access the Neuse River trail system. Level ground. Parking lot active with a couple of early morning users and a few until just after dusk, but very quiet through the night. Parked here two nights. No “no overnight parking” signs. Signs once you are on the trail says trail is open dawn to dusk but nothing in the parking lot. We took the trail and cycled downtown Raleigh, mostly along the scenic trail system. We were able to back our 24’ into a spot. Something bigger could park on the grass along the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Got the knock at 3:45am tonight by Raleigh Police. They said staying here is trespassing and not allowed. They said it’s frequently a place people come to do drugs so they now routinely patrol the area.
Report Check-InGreat little spot for the night. Not too many places in Raleigh to park and sleep, so this was a great find.
Report Check-InAs OP described it. The sign does say “no loitering” but does not say no camping, and no one came to knock, although I was a bit concerned someone might. Had a nice run on the river trail in the morning. Cheers!
