Army Corps boat launch and recreation area. We were here midweek and late spring, so it was quiet. We ended up having the whole place to ourselves. It was quiet and enjoyable. Vibe is likely different/busier come summer. There are about 5 numbered sites with tables and fire pits. Two have picnic table shade structures, and there are several trees. Nice pit toilet. We parked out on the rock jetty, which had a table and fire pit. Was a little rainy and occasionally the wind really got going, but neither lasted long. Two trains came by, one at 8:30 PM, one around 2:30 AM. They were loud, but went by quickly. There are more sites further up the road that looked nice. These ones, further from town, seemed cleaner and quieter than those closer to town. I’d definitely come back! No cell service (T-Mobile or AT&T).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Also came for a night and stayed three. If you have a kayak you can paddle across the river to a really nice little beach where all the trees are. Tons of driftwood around to burn but there's fire ban all summer. I think I had 1 bar of Verizon roaming at the end of the jetty.
Report Check-InWe’ll came here for one night and stayed 3 hah. Great place got the best spot on the jetty no others camping any night ship passes by few times a day and night for the most part pretty quiet and peaceful. People drop in boats randomly late and early but no bother. The last night kinda ruined it between a guy showing up at 1 am plinkin a metal target which isn’t the most pleasant thing to wake you up to the guy a few hours past that showed up and did donuts in the parking lot in his truck.
Place is still worth it though:)
Report Check-InIncredibly beautiful spot, very glad we made the detour when we couldn’t find a nice campspot in Moscow. You’re in for a treat, especially if you manage to score the spot on the jetty. Just watch out for rattlesnakes and try to keep this place clean!
Report Check-InA great place to spend a few nights! We started off at Nisqually John landing but moved up to this spot as we found it to be much cleaner and quieter. The parking lot has plenty of space for large rigs and we had no trouble with out class C. You actually CAN get at&t LTE signal here if you stand at the very end of the peninsula with the picnic table.
