Stayed overnight in the big parking area surrounded by Aspens, next to trails . High up the mountain so very quiet even though you are near a road. It is listed as a day use area, but there were no signs about overnight parking being prohibited. Day use fee $10/day.
Report Check-InStayed here as all Forest Service CG in the area are already closed. Had a quiet night after all day users left. There were 3 vans here overnight. Aspens were at their prime.
Report Check-InHad no problem camping here. We were the only ones in the lot. Paid $10 via an envelope. The bugs were pretty bad but the meadow was full of wildflowers!
Report Check-InMarch 31, 2023 this location is inaccessible from Big Cottonwood Canyon. Guardsman Pass Rd cleared about 1/4 mile above Wilderness lane and ends at a 15’ wall of snow.
Report Check-Innice spot, I got the prestigious corner spot. Full 5G on Verizon but you are right next to the road so it can be noisy.
no fires obviously but there's a trash can and bathroom.
Camping is an option on the self serve permit envelope (max 2 nights). Warning, the road from Park City up to here is STEEP. I have 6 cylinder pulling tiny teardrop trailer and had trouble getting out of 1st gear.
Report Check-In$10. Met a couple who were on their second night here. Busy with mountain bikers during the day but quiet and peaceful after dark. An easy short stroll to the stream.
