Definitely a little closer to town than we would have liked but we were not able to find a spot further up stream. This was a great place and easy to get to. Solid packed pebbles and some spots with shade further at the edge. Perfect place to relax in the water and enjoy an awesome sunset.

We stayed here for 2 nights, before and after our stay in Utila. The place is quiet. Few villagers living on the other side of the river pass by here to cross on foot. We did not see a military checkpoint in the area, and we were not bothered during the night.
Report Check-InDont sleep here unless you get a permission by the nearby military checkpoint
We got waken up in the middle of the night from the military .. this place is on a frequent drug smuggler route! so they were searching the whole car .. took every little case apart and asked us several times if we have cocaine .. They also took our alcohol away! We said to them that we dont move in the middle of the night and then they let us stay .. maybe you can stay at this beautiful place when you ask them in advance!
The locals there are nice and friendly - they come in the morning to get to their properties on the other side of the river!
