Bolivia
Attention!! According to the GPS, there should be a bridge for crossing the river BUT it is not built yet! Possible to cross during the dry season, but don't even think about it during the wet season.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We were here during the wet season, together with some locals. They called a tractor to pass but left their van behind. We (Land Rover Defender) decided against it cause the river was hip deep with a lot of current. In most places the bottom was rocky, so crossing is impossible with less water.
The tractor could pass without a problem. They offered us to pull us through for 600bol.

Report Check-InCrossed here with bicycles. Had to unload 3x to cross knee deep water. The whole operation including lots of walking through mud took us more than 30min. The locals/visible tracks are doing a big loop, first crossing Sacambaya, then Khatu. We just followed them. We camped on the other side, but it wasn't very nice. Surface is either mud, stones or cow shit.
Report Check-InWhen you get down, don't follow the old road to the bridge (it's completely deteriorated anyways) and follow instead the obvious track going to the left. Then trackmarks will lead you over the river basins. You'll cross multiple arms of the river. For us, they were around knee deep with good ground for driving on. We saw two two-wheel-drive small vans do the crossing. We crossed with two 250cx Motos.
Report Check-InOk, second hand info received from a group of Argentinian biker who crossed (at night) with 7 motos and no issues. Depth approx: 50cm but… we are at the tail end of the dry season so that’s probably as good as it gets.
They came from cochabamba heading north, we are headed south from coroico (via Quine) so the whole road is ok right now.
Attention!! According to the gps there should be a bridge for crossing the river BUT it is not built yet! Thanks to many locals (who we helped out in the middle of the river) checking the way through the water, we manged to cross. No idea how high the water is in other times of the year… otherwise you need to get back to Independencia 60km back.
