Description

This is the best wild camping spot we’ve encountered in a long time, big open dirt parking lot, always quiet at night, right on the beach. Next to a hostel where you can ask you use there bathroom: and it’s free. Wifi is also there

Best place in front of El Cuartel! Awesome bar with most chilled vibe! They changed the policy a bit, if you want to use shower and bathroom you need to chip in some soles. But prices seam way to cheap to be true. Cause water is quite expensive in Lobitos. Come here have some beers or join the occasional partys. Highly recommend!

Super nice place! Perfect for surf. There is a place (the only place) where you can buy avocado bread and use the bathroom (for free) In town there are shops to rent a board. At the street on the left you can buy a 20L bottle aqua for 12 soles and very good cakes and pie. Nice beachwalk.

Super relaxed. Slept with the door open, made fires every night. Soo much wood on the beach) and we met a lot of other travelers. Super cozy spot.

“ one thing annoying: there is a lot of glass on the beach! We stayed 1 week and cleaned up a lot. I think if every overlander picks up trash from the beach it would be great! :)

As said by others, this is a good place to camp. And if the sea is too rough, you can swim in the swimming pool which is filled with seawater constantly. It very neatly constructed with natural materials on the point break.

Awesome place, one of our favorites so far. Feels like Baja wild camping. You can park on concrete slabs close to the surf, it's super quiet at night and nobody is bothering you. There are a few surfers here from the hostel, but that's about it. We didn't go to the hostel, because they have two dogs that would certainly not play nice with our cat, but I bet you could ask there if you need a bit of infrastructure like toilets and showers.

Only downside: The wind is very strong starting at 10am (and strongest in the afternoon). Best surf is in the morning, in the afternoon you run the risk of the wind blowing your board in your face...

Perfect 4G Claro reception. Lobitos itself is also quite interesting to see, most development is on the far end while the city center is still in ruins.

This is an abandoned military station. You can choose your building if you want to be sheltered from the wind; either the kitchen, the nursery or every other building - the headquarters being the hotel. We chose the bathroom ^^
You can also sleep on the beach in front of a well-known surfing spot and beautiful sunset.
Nice, quiet and felt safe.
Watch out for scorpios !

Great spot in front of Piscinas point break. Safe and in a good location. The hotel next door doesn't serve food like it used to but you can still go over for a cold cola or beer and enjoy the shade.
