Description

There are about 10 spots off Baylor Canyon Rd. Beautiful, with Organ Mntns in the background. The road is a bit rough, a few rocks to drive over, but it's fine if you take it slow. Not sure about bringing in a big rig. I suppose you could tent but the ground is quite rocky and uneven. It's just past the gates to Dripping Springs Natural Area, which is a $5/vehicle day use area with a visitor center, bathrooms (which can be accessed without paying the fee), and a half dozen walking/hiking trails. No overnight camping in Dripping Springs.

Latest Check-Ins

This is a great spot close to the Dripping Springs (Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks) Natl. Monument. The roads a bit Rocky but there’s plenty of spaces.

As described. No trouble in my prius taking it slow, and plenty of level space. Watch for glass! Beautiful views, birdsongs, sunset, stars, and sunrise. Utterly peaceful and relatively private—traffic is infrequent on Baylor Canyon Rd.

Loop with some spots to pull off at the base of the Organ Mountains. Pavement and then a rocky loop road. Not sure about a motorhome but there were vans and a couple small SUVs. This Verizon LTE.

Solid boondocking w/ easy access to wilderness area and Dripping Springs Rec. Area. Three bars Verizon at the right spot then 1-2, was able to stream. I stayed three peaceful nights, one day hiking a trail in the wilderness area and one day biking up and hiking to Dripping Springs. Sites are spread apart, basic pullouts from dirt spur road, definitely rocky, but my Ram ProMaster 136wb made it with no issues. Overall clean site, but some scattered dog poop? And there’s a chair at one site, which I reported to the BLM staff at Dripping Springs (cool but not cool - see pic). There is a restroom and water bottle fill at Dripping Springs RA 4 miles away, opens at 7am. I would most definitely stay again!!
