Argentina
We parked on the grass 50 meters away from the road. It was very cold in late May but no wind.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
OK to pitch your tent for a night. I placed iin ghe bck of the building on a decwnt piece of grass. The guy offered me a bed in the trailer, but i preferred the tent. I didn’t pay anything. Free wifi!
Report Check-InOne person made us sleep in a caravan with several rooms containing mattresses and possibility to charge phones and battery. We were 6 cyclists and all got a free bed.
But be careful, from what I understood, 2 people running this site are doing 2 weeks rotations each. 1 makes cyclists pay to make money, the other one not.
So it's the latter that I had, super nice guy, we can use the toilet and the kitchen. I really recommend it!
If the guy want to make you pay, I asked to the police guy and you can put your tent in the garden next to it, and use the kitchen and toilet as well.
Conclusion, you will be able to find a place to sleep in this area protected from the wind!
Report Check-Inwe stayed one night there, we payed 2500 for 2 persons to sleep in the trailer, 2 beds inside. We could use Damian's kitchen, we had warm shower, toilets and good advices for the rest of the trip. You can also sleep for free if you put your tent inside. Perfect for one night to rest form the crazy wind
Report Check-InWe slept here at the place from javier. He has a container with matrases and a bathroom with hot shower for cyclist. It sooo awesome and all of thar for free, because he once also was a cyclist and want to give people a nice place to stay protected from the cold and the wind.
Report Check-InWe stop at the police station. The man was really kind. He offered us to use the bathroom and water for free. We were protected from the wind. Nice stop after a long road and before passing the boarder.
The "Ruta provincial 7" (just before this stop) is a gravel road of 60km in a bad shape. We drive at 30km/h a long time. I think it's better to pass by Esperenza when coming from El Calafate.
we asked for wind protection and the road guy offered us to sleep in the chicken house, wich is a very good wind and rain shelter, for free.
we didn't ask for water or bathroom, cause we just wanted to sleep, we they would probably have given us.
many people said that guys ask for money but I think it really depends on which team is in the place. probably depends also on what you ask (just to sleep in the tent or sleeping inside and use bathroom)
DO NOT PAY the old man for staying here. He acted suspiciously and showed me some old rooms in a trailer with filthy mattresses and then asked for 300 pesos. That's ridiculous and it's illegal. This is government property and he is putting the money in his own pockets. I'm going to complain about this to the AGVP. You can stay for free directly behind the police station.
Report Check-Inpermiten colocar la carpa y tomar agua, el WiFi es libre y tienen un galpón que protege de de viento y lluvia, cobran por ingresar al baño
Report Check-Innow the guy who works at AGVP charges 300 ars per person in a trailer. he even asks money for the toilet :(
Report Check-InJust in front of the gas station on the other side of the road. The first one is the police. and the second one is the one for the road (green sign).
They allowed us to shower for free there.
Very good hot shower. Was clean too. Friendly guy !
As we asked the man from the AGVP. He told us, to stay is 250 pesos for two persons. We could stay in the dormitage, use the warm showers/toilet and cook in the kitchen. He told us that he‘s working here in a turn from 15 days. We don‘t know if he took the money in his own pocket. But we stayed, because we thought it’s a fair price. And there are so many cyclists...
Report Check-InReally nice guy! He now seems to be charging to use the trailer (300 pesos for two). Hot shower/kitchen/WiFi. A great place for cyclists.
Report Check-InYou had better ask to the police station rather than to the AGVP because they ask us money for camping and banos. But the policeman told us after that we don't have to pay..... up to you.
Good wind protection with the tree. Quiet at night even if chicken sleep with you.
Was offered to sleep in the backyard with the chickens, was surprisingly quiet. Access to bathroom and kitchen if needed. Free. If you are lucky fresh eggs in the morning! Fast free Wifi.
Report Check-InWe asked the man who is taking care of the road for a shalter to spend the night and he kindly gave us a small room in the trailor. He also was kind to let us use the toilet and a hot shower.
Very thankful. :)
Report Check-InGas station with a kind man helping us. We Didn’t have enough Argentinian pesos but he also accepted dollars and euros!
