Enter the antrance road to the camp ground (free site camp ground). Off season the camp ground is gated off but there is a great spot to pull off at the turn around and spend the night. Has a level concrete pad and fire pit. Great Verizon coverage.

Hickory Ridge COE Wilderness Campground. There's a list of rules which indicates there's designated camping spots. I assume those are down behind the road closed gate. I walked down a ways but didn't see any campsites so it must be a ways in. Instead, I stayed the night in the parking area. Not clear if that's ok but no one here mid May. I stopped in Pella to see the tulips so this looked convenient to stay. It was further in than I expected especially with the main road closed so detour is needed and back in on a few miles of gravel. Protect and enjoy!
