Description

Great spot! The road in is well graded and not washboarded, however this was the first real spot off the road once onto BLM land (about 1.5 mi on gravel). There were a couple small spots directly on the road but this one is quite large and flat, and could fit many vehicles. Only downside is that there's a steep bank to get off the road so limits those with low clearance and/or longer rigs or trailers. Highway noise is minimal and the train is far enough away that it wasn't bothersome. Not a single vehicle went by on the road for the two days we were here over the weekend. Great signal: full bars on TMobile and Google Fi.

Lot of song birds, singing well past sunset. No one here. I am surprised. Can hear the train occasionally, but overall it’s a nice spot.

Great spot, beautiful sunrise, super easy to get to in a Vandoit Transit camper van. Another truck towing mid-sized RV trailer was in there, too.

great spot easy access from the 8. Flat, quiet and safe. there were already 2 vans so we went about 500 yards farther up the road

Report Check-In

Large hard-pack sandy spot with room for several vehicles, sorry walk to lava outcropping. Small for ring towards the back.

Report Check-In

Nice large circular'ish sandy patch on the left coming from I-8 direction.

Nice quite night. One other van there.

Update:

When leaving to avoid the rain approaching from the east, I stopped to chat with a rancher unloading his working horse from his horse trailer.

He informed me that the bombing range south of here is planning to extend north, and we will loose this and many other BLM locations.

Jay stated: Meetings for discussion are planned, but usually such meetings are a formality, and the conclusion is preset.

Mmmmm :-(((

Beautiful flat area can fit a boat load. But of course we all want our own privacy and space. Easy drive out small amount of washboards as all dirt roads get. 2 bars Verizon. Chevron gas station at exit to get here. Slight train noise if they use there horn. Stayed a night great sleep. Sunsets amazing. I made a fire pit burned a small fire for a few evening hrs. I rate this a 8of10 if internet could be faster is only complain if that even worth complaining about…
