Cool community. Definitely check it out. Lots of art all around. We stopped by the Ski inn for a beer before parking here for the night. The next morning used the restrooms as the community cafe and grabbed a house brew. Delicious and wonderful hospitable folks.

Such a cool spot BUT it smells horrible, the bugs are vicious, & the sand is extra soft in some spots. I had to get towed (for the first time) out. Fortunately Kim B came thru at midnight & hauled my van to firmer ground.
I really loved the esthetic but unfortunately had to leave after one day bc something (I'm assuming associated with the rancid smells) made me very ill. Nausea & respiratory issues. I started feeling better immediately after leaving.

Awesome place to hang out for a few days and nights. Unfortunately we drove down by the water and hit a soft spot in which point we got stuck. AAA decided they couldn’t help because they were scared they’d get stuck as well! An amazing human ended up realizing this and he came down and pulled me out, he just told me to pass it forward. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed all the art work. They do have a spot when you first pull onto the beach that some people use to hang out, has a fire pit, lights, and seating area. Would definitely stay again :)

Great place to stay with lots of space for a number of RV’s and trailers no matter what the size. Interesting looking at all the sand erosion defence on the beach.
Also walking distance to an amazing bar, the ski Inn, made to feel very welcome with great food, although limited menu, And you can play pool.

Stayed there for a few hours, it was nice. i’m not really a fan of water or sand or being under the hot sun. lol. But I think everyone should give it a visit. There’s a lot of space for you to be by yourself.

This is a super awesome spot. It was quiet, felt safe, and there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out, but there was only a couple rigs when we got here anyway. Views in the evening and morning are killer. Easy to find a level spot and good T-mobile. The bar up the street is fun, also. I would definitely stay again.

Just one other camper there in their RV, other than that nobody. Met some locals in the evening at the beach, all seemed pretty cool and not dangerous at all ;)
Felt super safe.

We camped here one night to explore the Salton Sea and Salvation Mountain today. It was a great spot with tons of space. There was a lot of people, some definitely seem to be there long term, but we found a quiet spot in the upper area. We drove along the beach in the morning and really enjoyed the art. Such a fun spot! P.S. we didn’t check if this “coffee truck” actually sells coffee lol. Also no facilities besides trash cans as noted by others.

Love this place. Park up and walk the beach to see some awesome sculptures. The town has some cool stuff to see too. Visit the BBAC Community Cafe for some delicious baked goods and coffee in the AM and the Ski Inn in the PM for brews and grilled/fried food. Both are cash only.

Seems like you can stay as long as you want. Someone is literally building a privacy fence out of palm fronds around their travel trailer on the beach, so it’s safe to say no one is going to bother you about spending as long as you want out here. Beware the toxic dust though…

Great place to stay. A few other campers were also at the beach. Find your own spot. Walk around the beach and explore all of the creative art there. Walk to the Ski-Inn pub for a beer. There are hot springs nearby, but we did not visit them. A unique place to spend a couple of nights.

Nice Place, lots of Art, explore! Please do not leave any trash! Leave the place cleaner then before! A man came by and told us to take the garbage with you, otherwise they will close the place ! It is private land and you are allowed to camp

Quiet, lots of room, and easy access. And you can also go into the Ski Inn if you want a burger/brew or some music (which we lucked into).

take ave B straight toward water and you've arrived when you see the large concrete star sculpture. lots of art on the beach and in town. worth meandering about to find nooks and crannies of interesting stuff. lots of the art spots are on google maps. ski inn and american legion offer food and beverage (ski inn more predictably open). lots of room. i stayed 3 nights and only had 1 other van for company 1 of the nights. be very careful if you want to drive farther down onto the beach. i saw several vehicles get stuck and have to pay for recovery. can be windy and smell briny....but overall beautiful nature (even if horribly toxically polluted) and quirky art!

This town is weird and quirky and full of interesting art on the beach and in just about every yard.
Enter this spot via avenue B as Avenue A is permanently closed due to flooding.
We were the only ones on the beach for the night and didn’t have any issues. We rode bikes around town in the morning. It’s pretty apocalyptic. People were friendly. The dogs? Not so much.

I was only there for a night, but was able to get down onto the beach pretty easily with my 2WD Promster. There's definitely places one could get stuck, but pretty easy to navigate.

It's definitely a one of kind place. Definitely check out the local dive bar, the Ski Inn, just remember they're cash only.

I was told by a friend to go get food at the VFW, they let anyone in and apparently are really good.

I had a very strong 5G connection through Google Fi (T-Mobile)

Open lot right on the beach. Several other vehicles here - skoolies, vans, trucks, small RVs. No amenities other than one trash can. Not sure about safety if no other overlanders are around. But it felt safe to me with the community.

Look for the star and you know you’ve found the right place.

Restaurant and store nearby (about 1/2 mile).

Gravelly lot wouldn’t be so good for tenting.
