Description

Local family with camping spots on their lot around the house with an outhouse, and an outdoor shower. Reservations can be made on Airbnb, but I just drove in and offered $30 cash (same rate on Airbnb before all the fees). Unsure if extra people or shower is more.

in strong winds, there is no protection from the sand. Camping is then hardly possible and everything is completely red and dusty.

Picnic tables, some with shelters, fire rings.

Road in is desert sand, but no issues at this time.

I have small class C, 24ft. Wouldn't recommend anything big due to confined space and road.

Clearly this is a camping option for a certain overlanding demographic. My wife immediately liked the host family. We paid cash ($40/night). Given the location (adjacent to a trail up the hill to a gorgeous overlook) it seemed reasonable. The funny thing was passing a completely empty KOA out on the main road through MV. Given we are completely self contained, I can't contribute much regarding the bathroom/shower facilities. I will say the ground (beautiful red sand) is not exactly level. As the campground was empty when we arrived, we were able to find a relatively level spot. Not sure what it will be like over the next 48 hours. A strong front is expected to move through dropping snow and rain. Our hope is this spot will afford us a great view of the weather moving through this dramatic landscape.

Very nice campground close to trails…30$ and 5$ for a hot shower…sadly it was windy so it wasn‘t nice to stay outside

Perfect for one night before going early to Monument Valley. Great for sunset and nice hike directly from the camp for sunset. We woke up at 5:30am and had a very nice view. 30$/night for rv and family of 5. Table and fire pit. Outdoor toilets very clean. Not cheap but really affordable compared to all the other campgrounds around. We showed up without reservation and it was perfectly fine. Avoid paying AirBnB fee.

Best camping spot ever. Right at the base of the monument park and has a path with direct access for sunset and sunrise.. bathroom and shower. Some flat spots. Fire pit and tables for each spot. Book direct or through Hipcamp.. order the Navajo taco dinner! And check out the jewelry. Lovely Navajo family is touching to be around and get to know!! Strongly recommend!!!
