A great campground in a beautiful canyon and it is free !!! You MUST have a toilet with you.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Within a few hundred metres of entering the BLM land, the road steepens and roughens. I don’t have nor know much about 4WD. My guess is you need high clearance 4WD. Pretty from what I saw.
Report Check-InEvery spot along Gemini Trail from the Canyonlands side is closed to camping until you get to the small camping area just west of this spot. All those were full and we had 5 vehicles, so this was our spot for the night. Right on roadside but very little traffic overnight. Very pretty area.
Report Check-In- It’s a free BLM designated wild campground (zero amenities) with 5 campsites. Travelling on Gemini Bridges Rd you’ll see a clear sign for the campground that signals you to turn on to Poison Spider Rd
- High clearance absolutely needed if coming from the 191 side. If coming from the 313 side, tho with a few rocky spots, the road is much more tame
- We were the only ones here. Almost zero snow on Gemini Bridges Rd in late December, some on Poison Spider though
- The canyon is echoy (which is cool!!). Behind the the campsite has rocks great for bouldering/monkeying/rock climbing
- Sunlight doesn’t get to the canyon until about 9-10am (December). There was some condensation on our tent and car, which turned into ice bc of the cold and was only thawed out when sunlight came thru
A great camp site in a beautiful canyon and is free !!! You MUST have a toilet with you.
