The road is now open for everyone. Big tour buses can go through without problem
Report Check-InThe road is passable with 2 small river crossings. Buses and big trucks are passing as well, so no big deal.
Maybe check beforehand after heavy rain.
The Road is Open again we crossed it Today there os a Bypass thru 2 small rivers but it was doable for us in a Mitsubishi L300 so should be not a Problem!
Report Check-InAfter El Chaco there’s a fence on the road. Apparently the day before yesterday a new landslide has occurred. The road will be blocked for two months.
Report Check-InRoad is open. No problems anymore . We rode this road twice, as we missed the road to Baeza…
Report Check-InRoad still very closed! Didn’t see the sign so went to the end only to have to come back… huge landslide, won’t be fixed anytime soon! Spoke to the locals who told me the government isn’t working on it so, yeah… could be a year or 2!!!!
Report Check-InSince November 2021 the road between El Chaco (18km northeast of Baeza) and Lumbaqui (50km west of Lago Agrio) is completely blocked due to landslides and major roadworks. Locals say in Feb 2022 it will take many months more. The southern route to Lago Agrio from Narupa is open and fully tarmaced but watch out for some potholes just after Narupa.
