Parking lot for the Putah Creek Reserve. Day-use only. No overnight camping. Previous posts noting overnight camping allowed are in error.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This place is not open to overnight camping. It is day-use only. It is against UC Davis campus policy to camp overnight on the campus, of which the Reserve is part. As Director of this area, I'm correcting the information on the page to reflect this.
Report Check-InLarge flat open gravel parking lot. Great place to stay between San Fran and Sacramento. The cops came by to patrol at night which was nice, just checking in. Good cell service with Verizon, and a porta potty on site
Report Check-InTrailhead parking lot in a rural setting just outside of Davis. Not too far of a drive from Sac. Tiniest bit of road noise, but otherwise peaceful. There's a porta-potty available.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Lot was nearly full at 5pm on a Thursday when I first checked it. Came back at 9pm and it was empty. Two other vans joined during the night. Very quiet, no bothers. Great trail access for dogs. UC Davis Police pulled into the lot at 8am as I was getting ready to head out. They did a loop and continued on their way, seemingly didn’t care about me and the two other vans. Great ATT and Verizon.
Report Check-InLovely spot, very quiet save the sounds of birds chirping. Porta potty by the gate and picnic bench in the small grassy area.
Report Check-InWe stayed two nights there and had a quiet and peaceful time. Many cars during the day but friendly people. We were in a 22ft RV and it was a perfect spot (not 100% flat). No other RV during that time. Surprising because Sacramento does not seem very RV friendly.
Parking about 10 cars.
We had good at&t service
Report Check-InQuiet night with one other van, right by the creek. There are picnic tables and a porta potty that is cleaned regularly. We took a nice walk along the creek and there are swimming holes and fire rings. UC Davis owns it and it is very clean and feels safe.
Report Check-InParking lot for the Putah Creek Reserve. Stayed one night in van along with two other vehicles. Quiet, outhouse, ok for car or RV for the night, not on the street. NOT OK for tent camping. Good cell reception.
