Description

Quiet, large gravel parking area away from the main road. One of a few different parking areas in the Iron Mountain trail system, but this one was close to trails we were interested in. Lots of trails that take you to the edge of DeGray lake and they were excellent for a morning jog. We heard one car drive by in the morning. No one bothered us, very quiet, no signs prohibiting overnight parking. Had the whole park to ourselves and really enjoyed our stay. Medium Verizon signal.

great place to stay. no views, but a 15 minutes gets to the lake with very few people around this time of the year.
I missed it last night in the dark, but as you get onto the parking area, on the left right by the trailhead, there is a flattened area just the right size for a rig (up to 26ft I'd say). no need to level. the rest is about a 4 degree incline at best.
much better than the campground nearby, which forces you to reserve for 2 days and is quite tight.

Nice smooth gravel parking lot surrounded by pretty tall trees. Stayed the night planning on doing Hot Springs National Park. Definitely more of an overnight spot than a longer term camp since it is a trailhead. Had decent Verizon signal.

Flat parking area at the trailhead for several trails. Stayed 2 nights, was very quiet and off the main road. Saturday may have been 15 or so vehicles come to hike and bike there otherwise very quiet. Left Sunday a.m. nobody had arrived yet to go on the trails. Really enjoyed the trails and seclusion. On opposite side of Lake from DeGray Lake Resort state park. Free admission there. Enjoyed the island trail before heading out of town.

there's a small gravel lot mostly level. no one drove by until the next morning to ride the trail. there's a campsite just down the road for $16 IF you need electricity and toilets. nice place not that far from the city. att worked great.

Great spot. It’s a parking lot for the trails so there are cars in and out through the day, but no one drove by overnight. Was very quiet. We used the showers in the campsite down the road and hiked the white trail in the morning. Loved it.
