Description

Completely legal overnight class B van sleeping allowed. Pay $4 for the vehicle and $4 for yourself and you get to stay 24 hours ON THE PIER! The pier is 1.6 miles long, park anywhere. There's 3 bathrooms spaced along the pier open 24 hours. The gate is open 24 hours and there's a bait store open 24 hours on the pier. There were a dozen or so cars on the pier of fishermen and only 1 van slept over night at the end. Trailers not allowed because you can't turn around. There's wild spots before the pier gate but I'm not talking about those. Excellent stay and I caught a lot of fish using chicken gizzards as bait.

Nice lady at the booth said I could overnight on the pier, it's $4 vehicle and $4 per person for 24 hours. Said I could come and go as often as I wanted in that time. I have a Class B van. She did say that when if they would have been busy they would not have let me stay.

So very nice and fishing too. Very nice people here too, locals and regulars.

Report Check-In

Seems to be fine. Others are here. Otherwise it is nice. Noise from the highway but not too bad.

I stopped around 3pm in my minivan and asked about prices. The lady confirmed that it was for 24hours.

Report Check-In

Fishing pier closed off so I tried to stay at the rest area. Got the knock at 2am and forced to leave. Security stated max time for rest stops in FL is 3 hours

Report Check-In

Great waterfront location. Wild camping with 3 other vans before the fishing pier.

Report Check-In

Great spot to camp, I did some day fishing on the pier and then found a spot by the water for the night. Has nice rest stops as well and you can also park on the fishing pier overnight. Would recommend this spot.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp for a few. Million dollar View. Totally free. Good signal. Ok fishing. Just great!

Report Check-In

Rest area near the bridge. No signs posted. You can also pay $4 to car camp on the fishing pier

Report Check-In

Free camping. Seems to only be OK on the South end. No signs. Very popular for fishing, I'm not talking just the pier which will cost 8 24 hrs per person per car .
This has no restrooms. I see campers, Tents, Van's. No fires.
I'm here a 2nd night. Pack in pack out please!

Update: Went back 6/3 and slept like a baby after a hugh rainstorm. However, the next morning at apprx 11:15 am, FHP came by and told everyone there was absolutely no parking and that there are signs everywhere. OK so those signs read: No Parking: Right of Way. No one seems to know what exactly it means... I will continue to check back with updates. I wonder if they decided to slack off on making people leave Memorial Day weekend because the Fishing Pier was so overwhelmed with cars. As I watched throught my visit there on Sunday 5/29, the line was a times 10 cars long to pay to get on the pier.

tried to stay but they don't allow dogs. I have transit extended and was able to turn around, which is the only way out according to the attendant! it was a lot of back and forth! you can park outside the pier but not overnight

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 nights. First night no issues. The second night upon entry at the gate, the different ticket lady tried to deny me, because my ford transit van looked too much like an RV. She tried to tell me there’s a sign for no RVs, but there isn’t and that weight is an issue. I told her van wasn’t titled as an RV, my vehicle weight, and I was here yesterday. She let me in with proof of my old receipt, which I had and she was very grumbly about. There were two other built out vans here fishing, they were more stealthy looking than mine.

Great place to fish if you are so inclined, or rest your weary head in your rig
