Description

Campsite on the river and in town. Space for six vehicles on lawn. Bathroom and warm shower on site.
Running water. One electrical outlet for $200M per day. Semi lit at night. Below main highway bridge so some road noise at night. WiFi available at restaurant. This RV park is behind and below the Cocina Económica Restaurant. Access to the park requires going to Cocina Económica, on a one way street, then proceeding to the end of the street, turning left to go below main bridge and left again at first dirt road BEFORE the river. Go down dirt road to next left into campground. Great for kayaking the river!

Nice spot in town. Below the bridge of the main road, so little bit noisy at night. The shower and toilet weren’t running. Still paid 200 pesos though. Semi lit at night. One of the dogs was curious what was going on. Sweet old dog. We didn’t know there was WiFi. They do have some chairs and a table and a kind of an outdoor kitchen.

Rolled in late, glad to find this convenient place for one night. Good for short walk to restaurants etc. Bit disappointed with $200, scattered dog poop and such. Flush toilet and tepid shower.

This campground is now open!
The easiest way to find this backyard camping on the river below the Cocina - Turn at the southernmost entrance to Mulege where the colorful letters spell out the word "Mulege". This road parallels the river heading towards the big bridge. Take a right to go over the river at the little bridge then immediately take a right on a dirt road/path that parallels the river going the other direction. There is a sign that points to your left where the backyard camping is!

It's the backyard between the Cocina and the river. Not advised for vehicles longer than 25 feet (8 meters). There's a flushing toilet, a sink and lukewarm shower. Access is by dirt road north of the river and paralleling it. Look for the sign at the backyard access. Google will have you go the wrong way on the one-way street in front of the Cocina.

The campground is open! The road has been repaired. Best for small RV’s, small trailers, vans and truck campers.

Backyard beauty! Great place to stay. We paid 200, but for the location it was good value. Usvaldo (sp?) was our host and he was great. Had some good suggestions on food and music in town as well. They’re an entrepreneurial family that’s creating a cool new space in the Mulegé centro.

Other directions to this place are overly complicated. As you’re going down the hill towards the water from the city side, you’ll pass El Kaluly restaurant on your right. Take the last left on a dirt road before you hit the water and drive 100m on the dirt road that follows the river until you pop out and see the big backyard clearing on your left. That’s the spot. We’re a 20’ class C, 2WD, no issues. Enjoy!

On Wed Feb 9th 2022 Osvaldo will have a sign up on the calle under the Hwy bridge that points to the grass backyard which is the camp. NOT for class A! Take the Southern entrance into Mulege and stop at the little restaurant at the second tope. Look across the river and you will be looking at the camp.

A little informal but Quite a deal at 100 pesos. 6 sites with one electrical outlet one a hose for water. Shower was clean but wouldn’t but hot is an exaggeration. Right on the river and reports of fish beING caught. Not that suitable for big rigs because of the unimproved access. Actually BEHIND the restaurant. Vans and small trailers are fine if you drive slow. Easiest access is from the south. Turn right off 1 before the bridge onto a concrete road, go underneath the bridge to the other side of the river, take right on something that doesn’t look like a road and follow it along the river a little way until you see the first lawn and go in it. The next couple of lawns are private.
I came here because it is right in Mulagé with access to an ATM and everything while I was having a repair done in my receiver hitch.
ACEROS BAJA about 2 KM south I highly recommend. It’s a little north of the entrance to Hotel Serenidad. Rodolfo got me back on the road in two hours on a Sunday afternoon for 600 pesos. I was expecting much more. I counted 100 pesos short and he said “esta bien así” so I gave him the extra 100 as a tip.

Best deal in Baja. 100 pesos. In town. On the river. Basically a family’s back yard. A little on the rustic side but water, electricity and a bathroom w/hot shower.
Kinda hard to find the entrance. Best to go to the front of the house on the street and have them tell you. Only suitable for vans or small trailers.
Nice old town
